$280 to put them up and take them down. I got a big house, so I think that's a helluva deal

threebag 10-17-2016 09:46 PM

I just do them myself.

I totally wasn't in favor of it until I gave in to it one year when the weather was shit and I was busier than hell. That was 14 years ago. I've never looked back :)

i put up mine, and our house has some pretty steep peaks. both sons say they're afraid of heights, so i get sent to put theirs up too(one lives in frickin georgia). i just want to pick the day to do it. no shitty weather. and when it's time to bring them down, i just grab and yank. piss on saving the cheap made shit. they all can buy some new ones each year.

happy holidays.

I just throw some colored overhead projector transparencies over the lenses of our uplighting. It creates instant holiday cheer for about 5 minutes of work at $5.

I have not used an overhead projector in 10 years.

You can find the colored transparencies on amazon. Just cut them to fit over the lenses of your uplights (or floodlights).

I think the better question is why are you talking about putting Christmas lights on your house when it is barely the middle of October?

We usually have snow on the ground by Thanksgiving. I'd like to get this kind of crap done before I take my life into my own hands on a roof. I have to start the snow blower this week to make sure that it works

Looks like you have your answer.

That snow blower will easily fit out the window onto the roof if it's snowy come late November.

Done. Had today off.
Grabbed a ladder from a neighbor but still have to wait to put up the large snowflake.
