Lidia's = blech
If you're looking for Italian food, hit Garozzo's. It's the best of the Old School Italian joints. |

Def go to Garazzos if you want Italian. I believe on weekends they have live music the original location. (5th and Delware) is about 10 mins from where you'll be staying in a place called the River Market. You could take the street car from downtown the River Market. It's a cool place but everything closes early.

I don't recall the last time I typed this but.... I really am glad I asked you guys for advice. We'll arrive in KC Sunday evening.

I'm one of Garozzo's biggest fans, but my new jam is Carmen's Café in Brookside.
Osteria Il Centro and Bella Napoli are solid as well. |
I'm gonna eat lunch at Joe's, Q39 and probably grab some Jackstack to go tomorrow. Thanks everyone! :)

KC has underrated/good Mexican restaurants as well (especially coming from Miami which has very few quality Mexican restaurants, as it is mostly Cuban/Latin American cuisine).
Rudy's in Westport and Teocali off of Holmes Street are both very good. |

Daisy's on ks,ave (original el pollo Rey location) is newer and VERY underrated. VERY UNDERRATED. If anyone tries it come back and give me my props. Side note...i grew up in that neighborhood and lived from 6th grade on the block behind it. My dad lived there until he died. I guess I own the place now. |
But is all about personal preference.

Ricos on southwest boulevard is awesome, cheap, and you can bring your own beer!
