Is there any other way the NFL could have ****ed us on this schedule- terrible!

Pitt came to us last year but its total bullshit we have to travel again to NE. That is some home cooking bullshit. When you make it to the SB your schedule should reflect it but for Brady it never does. Home tv night games against good teams and they get 3 at home. Thats bullshit. Their opener is also easy.

How the schedule works is really lost on you isn't it?

Starting season 4 out of 6 on the road against quality competition.

This is good for us. No tape.

Later in the year when they've got tape it's going to get harder for him.

I love a late bye.

You can view 2020 as well https://www.pro-football-reference.c...0-schedule.htm
2021 too https://www.pro-football-reference.c...1-schedule.htm
2022 as well - it's a conspiracy! https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2-schedule.htm

See, now you can plan your moaning and groaning years in advance!

Would you rather open with 3/4 at home or close with 3/4 at home? I'd rather have the 3/4 at home to close it out. And, for the last 3 seasons... KC has had a gift of hosting 3 of their final games. Where's the travesty really?

It's not how you start, it's how you finish yeah? I'd rather finish with 3/4 at home.

You and I have had this same discussion for over a decade...
I think it's a distinct advantage to have a front-loaded home schedule. I'd much rather jump out ahead of the pack and let them chase me than have to play catch -up. Anything can happen, but it's ALWAYS better when you are out in front.

KC has an outstanding NOISE advantage at home and more people show up for games when the weather is better than they do in shitty - sub freezing weather at the end of the season. (I don't blame them. I 've done it once. NOT FUN)

Also, it's not only who you play - it's also when you play them. At the beginning of the year, teams are more likely to be at full strength than they are at the end. Advantage again to be playing at full strength at home.

To be fair, the NFL should alternate it's front loaded home schedule annually. That way you would get your wish to one year close the season playing 3 out of 4 and I'd get mine to start at home 3 out of the first 4. The way it is now, Denver is always given the advantage of playing at home to start the season, and that helps them get off to good starts.

IMO, you're spot on with your take on the Patriots schedule.

Halfcan 04-20-2018 09:53 AM

Look at this Cream Puff schedule for that AFC Champs.

I hear ya.. I think there are too many that just do not understand that schedules (home and away) are predetermined, save for 2 games. Again, anyone can see the home and away through 2022, I believe. Question for them is, does the NFL have some sort of crystal ball that in 2014 they knew how to screw over KC in 2018 with road games?

I've also been to a Denver game at KC on Christmas weekend... the weather is brutal and nearly intolerable. Imagine how the visiting teams feel, then you add in the crowd, etc. It's a nice advantage - one that I would welcome any year over a 3/4 home start to the season.

Sure, you can build up a lead early with a 3/4 start and you can easily lose that cushion late with a 1/4 home finish. In the end, I think it balances out to a degree. And, if your team is really good and they get ahead of that 1/4 home start in the beginning, then it's an easier path to greatness in the final month.

So, as KC fans... if Denver is truly the bottom feeder and KC is that much better than the Raiders and Chargers, go get it and take the early ege.

@ Chargers, @ Steelers, 49ers and @ Broncos --- take 3 of those and you're golden. If KC is as good as many believe, they should really only truly be challenged by PIT, yeah?

I think some put too much weight on the early portions of the schedule.

Are you complaining about the teams played or the cadence of home vs away?

Rasputin 04-20-2018 10:56 AM

I think October 28 & December 13 are doable. It sucks when home games don't fall on payday weekend.

Mahomes is going have his work cut out but I think he will handle it with flying colors. I think we will be in a lot of shootouts.
