That's true if the Royals also win Monday at Seattle, and Texas beats Houston on Monday too.

We trail Baltimore by one game. We trail Tampa by three and they are already in a WC spot. Jump the team right in from of you. Tampa still has tough games ahead so them helping us jump Baltimore is a good thing. Plus, Tampa is the team I would prefer to play in a one game wild card.

Cleveland's schedule is pretty easy. There's a pretty good chance that they could run away with the wild card you are looking at.

We're better off letting the Yankees and Red Sox open up the AL East spot for us.

Isn't it obvious that we want the Orioles to win tonight? To draw the Rays back towards the pack. We need chaos at the top. And an Orioles win moves us a half-game closer to the WC than a Rays win does.

Best case scenario is bunch EVERYONE up and go from there IMO. We shouldn't be looking for what scenario sets the stage on who we play, GET there first.

Not sure how you can want Baltimore winning any more games. The royals have to start passing teams. Baltimore gets swept is a much better outcome than them winning IMO.

The Tuesday loss to the Indians is going to be to much to overcome, especially after the tribe is gifted a 7 inning win tonight.

This is simple math, not hard to figure out!

Strongly disagree. If TB sweeps, the O's are of no more concern to the royals. The royals would have to let them back in it, making the magic number irrelevant. They are not climbing to WC #1 spot. . It comes down to TB and the tribe.

Edit: O's win = 3 teams to climb over for WC2. TB win = tied w/ O's and two teams to climb over with one being Texas.

Only problem with that is it likely means the Royals are 3 back of the WC with 7 games to play.
