Leftover Crack's new album is pretty dope. Wasn't expecting it to be any good--all "reunite one last time" albums are usually always completely shitty where the band tries to recreate or retread the same stuff that put them on the map but I was pleasantly surprised that they showed they still had more to offer. Lot of cool collaborations with people like Jesse Michaels (Operation Ivy), Blackbird Raum, Days N Daze and others. Songs are as varied as the guest artists too, post-hardcore, pop-punk, ska, even a synth-heavy song.

This is my favorite song on it (warning: it's the most ska song on the album and a not really like anything else on the album)

hell yeah, the Leftover Crack and other Stza-related bands like Star ****ing Hipsters are pretty good but Choking Victim was sublime. I might go see them in March but I kind of don't like going to these huge shows where there's a shit ton of people due to big name bands playing, it kinda sucks

Growing up in Southern California there were all there gigs and cool local LA punk bands like Social Distortion, The Vandals, T.S.O.L. the Minutemen, X, Black Flag, Social Distortion, etc. I feel pretty lucky to have been there and have this music for us "weird" kids.

Once a week I'd go to Moby Disc records in Woodland Hills and grab all the gig fliers stacked on the floor near the cash register. I still have all of them. They're hand-drawn art and clip-and-paste type made with Xeroxed copies. One of them, features a long bill of acts headed by the Cramps, and way down the list, eight deep at the bottom, is the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I've been fortunate in the last 5 years since I originally posted this to get to know these guys a little personally. I'm even more fortunate enough to have moved to Chicago, where they're from, to get to see one of their last Chicago shows ever, tonight. I'm going to do my best to pretend I'm not 40 (I'm a man!) and get live for SHOT IN THE ****ING HEAD! The rest of time I'll likely be sitting on the sidelines, maybe eating some pizza or something.

Wow, you are a lucky SOB.

About 5 years ago I was walkking down the street in West Memphis with a couple dime pieces (hot women for you white guys over 40), and we see all this commotion going on outside of what looked like the worlds oldes Payless shoe store. As we get closer we realize it's all a bunch of guys with their shirts off, really bad jailhouse tattoos, and even worse hygiene. The closer we get to the crowd of about 15-20 guys the smell of body odor, cheap beer,, and stale cigarettes is almost over powering. I ask one of the weirdos outside what's going on? He says Weekend Nachos is playing a show right there inside the shoe store. We peered inside and noticed about 10 more people inside (all guys of course as no woman in their right mind is gonna be caught dead inside there.) They were actually paying people to come in and see the band play. After talking to a few of the people outside we realized that they were all homeless people from the tent city about a block over from where we were. I asked the women if they wanted to go in and party. They said **** NO. I said screw you bitches, shit is popping off the chain in there. I decided to go into the store and party with the homeless guys instead of the threesome because "bros over ho's". What a magical night of testosterone, PBR, Old Crow whiskey mixed with Orange Gatorade, and 305 cigarettes. Made a lot of new friends that night, and WA s even allowed to stay inside some guys tent since the girls were my ride (although I think he fondled me a few times while I was pretending to be asleep).
Bro, you're gonna have a blast tonight!! You should take your daughter, I've heard she's a raging party animal!!

I've tried to see Pennywise twice before and they cancelled on me both times. The first time, I showed up at the Beaumont Club to find a note on the door saying the band was snowed in in Denver. The second time, I was going to see them in Austin, TX and the show was cancelled because Zoli Teglas hurt his back.

This time, I was excited about the About Time tour, but they skipped Kansas City. The three opening acts played KC, but Pennywise was trying to dodge me again. So I drove to St. Louis and saw them with a friend there. The band apparently didn't see that coming as they showed up and played a really good set.

I'm glad you got to see them.

It was a good show, better than I expected actually, and About Time is probably my track for track favorite album by them. I'm glad they got all their shit worked out with one another.

I (saw) Pennywise about 8-9 years ago. They co-headlined with Pepper. I remember The Expendables opening set, I remember about 2 songs from Pennywise as I was hammered drunk, I remember only about 1/3 of Peppers set as I was just starting to come out of being blackout drunk near the end of their set. Was awesome from what I remember.

Finally someone stepped up.... It's not thrash like Cop Killer but the message is right on. Hope more bands follow suit.

I remember hearing Blood, Sweat and No Tears at a buddy's and I went out and stole it from an ALCO, or maybe a WalMart, a few days later. Cassette. It had a different recording on it. Some other shit. Not sure if it was a bootleg or what, but there wasn't one SOA song on it. I might still have it somewhere.

Insurgent Dave might just be the best punk band name ever

Pretty sure I'd be entertained to google "insurgent dave"
