Why haven't the Colts signed David Garrard yet?

Guess they figure that Collins 3 weeks of learning the offense trumps him considering how tough that offense is to learn. If that injury is even close to a threat for career ending, you would think they would jump on Garrard.

I'm more concerned with why haven't WE signed David Garrard yet? :banghead:

Man I had a bad feeling when I took Peyton in my stupid fantasy draft. Figured it was worth the gamble in round 4 or 5. Now I'm just kind of wishing I had stuck with my initial instinct, which was to not play this year. Ah well. Makes the football season a lot more entertaining for me.

Who did you take as a backup? My friend took Manning in our draft at about the same time, and he said about the same thing when he made the pick.

Would they cut him?

AFAIK the old rules regarding acceleration of signing bonus are still in place, so they'd probably be significantly above their cap if they did.

Cassel took the same team* that had gone undefeated against a VERY tough schedule and went 11-5 against a ridiculously easy schedule.

*side note: no team is ever the same team the next year, ever.

As for Manning, Besides Faulk, none of those players are top shelf talents.. Hence why they look like ass when they leave.. This has been talked about tons of times.. If Kennison traded spots with Marvin he would be HOF worthy.. Same with all these slot WRs and RBs that leave and look below average..
That must be some good shit... :bong:

Same here. Round 6 was a bargain! I got Freeman as backup though.

The reports that he's out 2-3 months are total garbage. Make other plans, FFL owners.

Quote:

"The common healing time is about a year," said Dr. Thaiyananthan. "At two to three months, most patients are just getting out of the collar." All patients who have had this type of procedure will lose movement in all planes -- flexion, extension, and rotation. "It's a chain and one of those is now locked in."

Thaiyananthan explained to me that fighter pilots who have this injury would be pulled out of their flight assignments. While players have come back in the NFL -- a recent example is Steve Slaton of the Texans -- there are no known quarterbacks, and among the more notable players who didn't return is Sterling Sharpe, whose career was ended after similar surgery.

At his age, I'll be surprised if he ever plays another down. He's got his ring and his millions, and he's a 100% lock as a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Oh, and I certainly hope this Favre rumor is true. The only thing better than watching the Colts go down in flames would be watching them go down in flames with Favre at the helm. LMAO

Chiefnj2 09-09-2011 11:31 AM

The only reason he probably hasn't announced his retirement is that his agent and Polian are working on a settlement of his recent contract and guarantees.

If the Colts go 5-11 this year after going 10-6 last year, that's a 5 game drop.

So, tell me, what is the point you think you're trying to make?

Did you watch that post season?

That is convenient numbers...Brady also took over Cassel's 11-5 team the next year and went 10-6. So I see it as Brady being -1 as opposed to your +5.

But the numbers are irrelevant. The Colts could go 0-16 this year without him and 16-0 next year with him and you would still grumble about him being overrated. The chance of facts or anything else changing your mind is as likely as the Teamsters Unions supporting the GOP in a presidential election.

When I'm wrong, I admit to it, and were that to happen, I would then be proven wrong.

My argument, however, is and always has been, that he's overrated because he fails in big moments.
