If that is the case, then that's pretty pathetic. Just contract the team and be done with it. I'm tired of moral victories.

I hear it from out of staters in New York, Texas, California. Especially when referring to the Chiefs. Arrowhead and it's fans still have a reputation that's pretty good, whether it's still deserved or not. There's always a major showing for the primetime games which probably helps keep it going.

Exactly. Winston's being a dumbass. Frustrated about not winning, so he takes it out on someone else over a non-issue.

Hell, didn't even realize we got a first down on that play. But, at the same time I was telling my pops how I didn't want to see Cassel go out like that. I just wanted him benched. Not hurt.

Big Chief Homer 10-07-2012 06:15 PM

Blasting the fans takes heat and focus off of 5 weeks of suck!

Screw you Winston, we were here rooting for this team long before you and we'll be here long after you false starting ass is cut!

Beef Supreme 10-07-2012 06:15 PM

Yeah....it's the fans fault... we are too stupid.

Our over paid free agent lineman didn't over-react to what probably wasn't exactly what he thought it was.

This organization hasn't been trotting out this same old tired shit for decades to a fan base that has sucked it up and cheered for our team in spite of the dipshits in charge of this circle jerk.

We are just too stupid. **** you Trent, and **** you Eric Winston.

Brock 10-07-2012 06:17 PM

It's just another indicator of the contempt fans of this team are viewed with by this franchise. They probably think this would be a great business to be in if they didn't have to listen to your complaints. We lost the game? See if we can figure out a way to blame the people in the stadium.

mcaj22 10-07-2012 06:18 PM

Houston takes Wade Smith off our hands and we take Eric Winston from them

I think Pioli is a little off on talent evaluation

Yeah, that was a critical drive that the Chiefs were looking to go ahead late in the game, and the crowd saw a rare first down and had some excitement.

But go ahead and assume the worst, Eric, and decide you know why people are cheering and get all holy to the media about what a bunch of dirtbags we are.

I wonder how much internal coaching/front office rhetoric is drilled into Chiefs players in meetings, practices, etc.? Coaches play a city's media against teams all the time, so it isn't much of a stretch to think that internal Chiefs rhetoric might be playing fans against the team. Hell, its so outside of the box that it might work for a season.

I don't care about that one way or the other. What I oppose is players acting like they have some kind of high ground when they play like shit, and then feel free to complain about faithful fans who show up to see their sorry ass team lose week after week. There was too much going on in the game at that point to say the fan cheering was because Cassel was hurt. We actually completed a pass on that play!!! And Quinn also strapped on his helmet and began throwing immediately. How the **** anyone knows what the cheering was for is beyond me?

If the players saw the banner today, it wouldn't take any FO rhetoric for them to be resentful of the fans. Tell anyone they suck at they're job and they will likely start flinging shit right back at you.

However, given time this will sink in, and perhaps Winston will see what we see; a team that hasn't had a lead in 5 games this season lead by a QB who cannot be trusted to attempt converting a 3rd and long.

People get knocked out in professional sport's all the time and people cheer for example boxing and mma fights, not really the point though, I seriously doubt people were cheering because the dumb ass got hurt they were cheering because they didn't have to watch him take another snap..... in that game atleast

chiefzilla1501 10-07-2012 07:29 PM

What's interesting is how tightly Pioli controls what coaches and players are allowed to say.

But he's not going to control players who speak out and take a dig at the fans.

Not that I disagree with anything Winston said. But you have to think if you're Clark Hunt staring at a 1-4 team, the last thing you want is for players to be criticizing the fans who are still for some reason watching this miserable team.

Exactly! These 'new' players have no idea what we've put up with and cheered...and booo'd.

I don't know what I would have done if I'd gone to the game. I had the foresight to sell this one (before the season started). But, in the living room, I looked at the wife and asked..."are we supposed to cheer this?" when Cassel was down and we saw Quinn hurriedly throwing a couple warmup tosses.
