Dude, there is a post somewhere...I think from about a year ago, maybe less, where Setsuna was talking about Bray and I replied and agreed that I thought he was good too and told him that if we ever ended up with him, he may have to give in and become a Chiefs fan. AND HE AGREED. He said he would become a Chiefs fan if that were to happen and then went on to say something about how he was considering going to enrolling at KSU or moving to Kansas or something.... can't recall the specifics, but I swear this exchange took place and I am about 75% sure it was regarding Bray. If Setsuna is the type of cat who sticks to his word....he is supposed to become a Chiefs fan. Lol.

Sure-Oz 04-27-2013 11:38 PM

Glad we took a flyer...If Reid cant fix him no one can. no risk signing all the rewards. His back tat is ridic, google it lol. Seriously though its all in the ears with him...hopefully he is ready to give it his all. Some have used the word 'sociopath' with him...atleast thats what i saw on twitter.

Honey Badger QB?

I expect him to be the 3rd QB on the roster and hope for more!

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-27-2013 11:42 PM

There is a 98% chance that this guy is a combination of moron and Section 8 given reports and first-hand accounts of him. As an UDFA, it's worth the pick, even if I'd be stunned if he ever saw an active duty roster.

rico 04-27-2013 11:42 PM

God I wish I could remember what that convo was under.... it may have had something to do with Cyrus Gray too. Either way, I'm pretty sure Setsuna is supposed to be a Jags-troll turned Chiefs fan.

Same chit with Vontaze Burfict a year ago. Widely considered an elite prospect early on, but once the character concerns and shitty combine results came in to play, he dropped to UDFA.

With that said, Vontaze had one hell of a season this year for an UDFA rookie. I think he was the Bengals's leading tackler and put up an unreal amount of tackles in the final game vs. Ravens...18-19 or so?

God I hope we hit with Bray like the Bengals seem to have hit with Burfict.

What makes you think that? I would agree he's not considered a technician like Peyton Manning... but he was great in college, rises to the occasion in big games, and has always made the team around him better, even going back to college.

There is academic intelligence and QB football instinctual intelligence of which you can't teach. Either you have it or you don't. Just because Terry is from the south and missing his front teeth doesn't mean he is a dumbass QB who can't win ?

With Bray I'd be concerned about several things:

1) His anxiety hang-ups
2) Panicking under pressure
3) Reading a defense and going through progressions
4) Learning and offense and having command of it
5) Making the right decision with the ball.

I'm not worried about him b/c I don't expect anything from him. Far too many people are imbuing him with skills he doesn't and won't possess b/c they are so desperate for a QB.

Hamas, I read your list and I almost have to laugh but you are correct. Yes I think he has been emotionally and mentally arrested at the PeeWee level of QBing. He has never had to work through these stages and has remained 'stunted' ever since.

it is sometimes amazing, what the difference between college coaching, and nfl coaching can do for you. From the moment tyler bray stepped off of the High school gridiron, to the College campus of Tennessee, he was told how great he was, and how great he was going to be. Despite having his two receivers taken in the first 34 picks in the draft, he went undrafted. If used properly, and he receives the professional coaching he is going to get from Alex Smith, Andy, and Pederson, he could be an absolute steal. This is all reward, and no risk. Perfect scenario.

Dude he has never had to work through any of this EVER because he has a rocket arm and can throw it the length of a field but it finally has caught up to him. Can you imagine what his white board play discussions in his interviews were like at the combine ??? Well I think we found out 254 players later.

I completely agree. I fully expect them to do with Bray, what Jim Harbs, and greg roman did with alex. THey broke him down completely, and rebuilt him.

Its all about if he is willing to accept it. he has zero pressure on him. he has two qbs in front of him, that fully understand what it takes at this level in Alex Smith, and Chase Daniel, a qb coach in doug pederson who was never physically gifted enough to play in the league, but smart enough to learn, and Andy Reid who knows how to develop qbs. i love the potential. Pissed that he didnt go to the browns, that big arm with Chud, and Norv, but happy he is with you guys.

Average at putting up 300 yard games. Thats about all he is average at. His accuracy is above average, his rating, qbr, completion percentage, and Td To int ratio is pristine.

Well, if you want the honest answer. He wasnt Jim Harbaughs guy. Much like Andy Reid will do, he will Draft and groom a guy, to eventually replace alex smith as his guy.

Alex Smith, is not as talented as a qb as Colin Kaepernick. Colin possesses the traits that Jim Harbaugh wants. A super aggressive, athletic qb. Colin Kaepernick is an absolute animal. Every moment of his life is spent on football. Thats who jim harbaugh was. a super competitive gym rat. Alex Smith is far more laid back. Alex Smith was serviceable for Jim Harbaugh, until he taught Kaepernick the nuances of the NFL game. When that happened, Colin took over, and Alex Smith was Dependable. That doesnt mean that Alex is not a decent option at qb, that means that Colin was a better qb, and also Jim's guy.

Just a disgusting arm. That ball is naaaaaaasty.

I hope he gets his shit together, he could end up being pretty special.

mrroandrro 04-28-2013 02:41 AM

From Walterfootball.com
Player Comparison: Ryan Mallett/Drew Bledsoe. Just like Bray, Mallett is a pocket passer who has good size with a cannon for an arm. Mallett is a backup quarterback who has only really played in the preseason, so if you want another comparison to draw upon, Bledsoe would work. Bray's style of play is similar to Bledsoe. If things go really well for Bray in his career, I could see him being a quarterback of Bledsoe's caliber.

NFL Matches: Kansas City, Arizona, Buffalo, New York Jets, Oakland, Dallas, New England Obviously the Chiefs, Cardinals and Bills are all in dire need of franchise quarterbacks. If any of those teams pass on the position in the first round, Bray could be one of their targets in Round 2. It also wouldn't be surprising if a team that's desperate feels compelled to trade back into the end of the first round if they fall in love with Bray and absolutely have to have him.
There are a number of teams that could select Bray on the second day of the draft. The Jets have to find a replacement for Mark Sanchez since they wouldn't give Tim Tebow a chance. Oakland needs a long-term starter and could develop Bray behind Carson Palmer for a year or two.

The Cowboys could consider Bray if he falls to the third round. Dallas may want to think of drafting Tony Romo's replacement and giving him some time to develop behind Romo while the Pro Bowler finishes out his career.

New England could target a quarterback if they trade Mallett for a team looking for a young signal-caller who already has had some developmental work in the NFL.

Seriously....if you're new here, I'm not a dick. I don't get into BS etc. You have opinion, that's fine/cool

Lose NFC Championship in OT QB isn't as good as lose SB in closing minutes of regulation guy. ;)

Plus, he wasn't benched per se. He got a concussion right smack dab in the middle of the great concussion panic of 2012. Then CK lit things up and didn't look back.

And then after he was cleared to play. Was not taken off the bench.

Don't know which is worse, the lack of awareness of how well CK performed out of the gate, right into the effing SB, or a supposed Chiefs fan who is uninformed of the criticism rained down when backup Gannon with a similar hot hand was sent back the bench the instant starter Grbac was cleared to play.

Rothligsberger is pretty ****ing stupid

Big Ben can get away with it because he holds on to the ball for 10 seconds and is about the only QB that can get away with that because he's impossible to tackle.

The challenge this year is that you either had QBs with huge physical limitations but a lot between the ears. Then you have guys who have a huge mental learning curve but have a lot of talent. Again, this was just a shitty year to draft a QB.

If anyone ever teaches this kid not to throw off his back foot he could be the real deal.

And to quit throwing beer cans/golf balls onto cars.

When he steps into a throw it is on a rope. Can make all of the throws, but has the worst footwork possible.

Hopefully Chilly/Reid/Pederson can coach the bad habits out of him. And Alvin Bailey should follow him around and beat the shit out of him when he thinks about doing something stupid.

Harbaugh started CK because he an quite a few other people feel he is a once and a generation QB. Not many come along. Comparing people to one another never works. Belichek did it to Bledsoe and its happened many times before. Hell the 49ers did it to Joe Montana even before he was injured Young was one his heels ready to play. This is why CK is in there, has no bearing on if Alex is good or not.

Bray on the otherhand does have questions, the one thing i will say for him is that the Tennessee program was absolutely falling down around him during his time there. That with his antics caused him to fall out of the draft. He does have immense talent. He will be coached accordingly.

I don't know much about the guy. Haven't really seen him play. I've got some research to do for sure.

But based on his Gruden QB Camp alone, I think this guy is a gargantuan idiot. I mean, welcome aboard and all that. I hope he turns it all around and shows me something.

So far, not impressed. But I'll do more research.

It should be noted that Tennessee's program was in shambles and had ultra inept HC in Dooley
