You must have missed this.

Puig and his mother testified in a 2010 trial in which Corbacho Daudinot was convicted of human trafficking – basically, of plotting Puig’s escape from Cuba.

I don't know if it warrants 12 million, but it makes him a commie narc.

Most outfielders don't make the play.

Plenty of outfielders make that play. I hate when players get all hyped up and people start treating every thing they do as phenomenal. "Oh man, did you see that shit Puig took today?" "yea, man, that was the best shit ever!"

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Hud would say if he worked for the Dodgers.

I'm intrigued by Puig because I just love watching incredible talent, especially post-steroid era.

But more than anything... man, love Donnie Baseball. It's a crying shame that the guy never won a single playoff series. Even Yankee haters can't possibly hate the guy. Would love to see him do some damage in the postseason, especially after he got unfairly shit on by a critical media.

Griffey's recklessness while he was young probably took a good 1-3 years out of his prime. He would go full speed into the center field fence. So, you crashing into the walls often can shorten your career.

Im ok with anyone in the play offs. Kershaw, GRienke and Ryu. Ill take my chances. All 3 have era's below 3 now i think and Kershaw at 1.87. Good luck.

ROFL Dude, you act like Puig will be slamming into walls every game for the next 5 years. A few wall bangings a season doesn't equate to a hundred of those same collisions a year in football. Give me a break. Let the man play baseball how he wants within league rules.

Oh yeah weren't 3 guys on the All Star team suspended for PED? Yeah Puig should have been on the team. All Star = joke

I love the guy's aggressiveness, but it scares me. It's not just hitting walls. I've seen outfielders hurt their ribs, sprain their wrists diving for balls. It's one of those tough things because you don't want to tell him to tone it down, but you also know that he can be an injury risk if he doesn't.

I like the guy because I get excited to see a special talent like this. I just don't want to see him go down the Griffey path where he's always on and off the DL.

I didn't say they equated. In fact, I didn't bring up football at all. YOU did. I simply stated that going balls out 100% of the time will get you hurt and likely shorten your career in baseball. You're the one who wanted to make the comparison to football, so that's why I pointed out the measurable difference in career length.

There's a reason guys don't run out every fly ball or grounder. You can get away with pacing yourself a little bit in baseball, and that's why so many guys can be productive deep into their careers. A 90-95% effort from Puig over 150 games is much better than getting 70 games at 100% because he separated his shoulder slamming into the wall or pulled a hammy trying to leg something out.

No. 100% all the time. Baseball players have gotten lazy and it's complete bullshit. I absolutely despise seeing a player refuse to run through the bag when they think they know they're out. You hit the ball and head down booking it to first. I hate seeing players making it to the peak of competition start neglecting the basics and trying to look cool. Puig is how all ML players should play.
