We should make a big arrowhead sign at the airport to see the team off when they leave Friday. It might also scare teams coming into the city on future dates. I hear Buffalo gets really scared when they see Arrowheads at airports.

Having a guy like Manning prevents me from being scared of any team.

@LRiddickESPN: Need at least 3, ideally 4 good OLB's that can rush in a 34 scheme, and #Chiefs only have 2 of quality. Depth/fatigue going to be a concern.

I'll be shocked if we don't win by multiple scores.
Our front seven should be able to pressure Gabbert into mistakes. Their run game should be able to kept in check with maybe one or two breakdowns. Our secondary should be able to shadow their receivers every down. Charles should have 150+ yards. They don't have anyone that can match up with Bowe. They don't have any real pass rushers to worry about. Fasano and Kelce should be able to have a big game. This is gonna be a homerfest. |
I'm not predicting a blowout.
I'm demanding one. |
Am I the only one who is expecting a down year for Charles this year? Sure he'll catch some passes but I think your run game is going to struggle this year because Reid hasn't been emphasizing it.

Yes you are the only one. What Charles doesn't rush for he will make up and get extra yards in the passing game. He can get 1500 rushing and 500 receiving or 1200 yards rushing and 800 to 1000 yards receiving. I think he is going combine for over 2,000 yards doing both. |

Yeah, if we win I'd be pretty excited |

20-13 Chiefs.
1 TD on D, one on offense, two FG's... |
Marcedes Lewis - TE - Jaguars
Marcedes Lewis (calf) had to leave Wednesday's practice early. Lewis' inability to even finish a mid-week workout is concerning. He skipped the final three preseason games in order to manage his calf strain. If Lewis can't go against the Chiefs Sunday, the Jags would have to go with Allen Reisner at tight end. |

It's like the old prick on twitter that keeps talking about the heat for the chiefs.

Marcedes Lewis - TE - Jaguars
Marcedes Lewis (calf) was held out of Thursday's practice. The absence comes after Lewis cut his Wednesday session short, and is an ominous sign for his Sunday status. Barely a TE2 to begin with, Lewis won't be playable if he doesn't return on Friday and earn at least a "questionable" tag. You can do better for Week 1. |
Anyone heard if Asamoah practiced today? Jacksonville has this DT named Sen'Derrick Marks who was balling in the preseason. I'm already a little worried about him kicking Allen's ass and we don't need Schwartz in there too.

The Steelers had just James Harrison, and Lamar Woodley for YEARS as primary pass rushers. The 49ers have Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks who play 95 percent of the teams snaps. Really really over blown. |

Jacksonville has a new coach and has had a long time to prepare for us. I wonder if they'll use Dennard Robinson as a QB and run some crazy formations with him and Ace Sanders? We have no idea what they will do on offense but, we do know they'll do something other than just give the ball to MJD.
and on defense their front seven is pretty good. I don't think this will be a blowout but, I do think it will be a solid win. This is one of the few games Jacksonville probably think they can win. I'm thinking 20-7 Chiefs. |
23-20 Jags.
|
Blaine Gabbert (thumb) remained limited in Thursday's practice.
Coach Gus Bradley believes Gabbert is "progressing positively," but it's still possible he ends up a game-time decision for Sunday's opener. It's an unideal scenario for the Jaguars, who wanted to avoid another quarterback controversy between Gabbert and Chad Henne. Gabbert will likely earn a "questionable" tag on Friday's injury report, but most signs suggest he'll be ready. |

The Chiefs added cornerback Sean Smith (neck), safety Husain Abdullah (foot) and linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) to their injury report on Thursday. Smith and Moses were listed as full practice participants while Abdullah did not practice.
Otherwise, the injury report was the same as Wednesday's. Guard Jon Asamoah (calf), linebacker Nico Johnson (ankle) and defensive lineman Allen Bailey (absent because of the death of his father) did not practice. Tackle Eric Fisher (shoulder), tight end Travis Kelce (knee), offensive lineman Donald Stephenson (shoulder), safety Quintin Demps (hamstring) and linebacker James Michael Johnson (groin) were listed as full participants. In the event Asamoah, the starter at right guard, isn't available against Jacksonville on Sunday, Geoff Schwartz would likely replace him. |

We'll probably barely win, but still may lose. |
I remember going with guys for the Jags opener last year. They were all pumped up to play the Texans. I don't think they got 100 total yards of offense. It was horrendous. Over by half time.
Hoping for the same this year. |
My son was with me. Saw the cool flyover and asked me why we didn't go to more games. 15 minutes later, we remembered....lol
|
Conditions are going to be rough in Jacksonville. It's going to be about 90 degrees with 96% humidity. The humidity in KC rests around 46%. It's a whole other type of heat down there. Hopefully Reid's tougher camp will pay off.

Have no idea what this team is going to do but the jags game is going to be a big indicator.
If we really are going to be improved this year and a playoff-ish team then we need to spank that jag ass. |

Bradley says Lewis is out. |
Marcedes Lewis - TE - Jaguars
Marcedes Lewis (calf) was held out of practice for a second consecutive day Friday. Lewis tweaked his calf in Wednesday's session and has been out since. He's looking like a long shot to play in Sunday's opener. Lewis may not make as many plays in the passing game anymore, but he's a solid run blocker. Allen Reisner, D.J. Williams, and Clay Harbor will try and pick up the slack. |
Stack 9 in box against MJD

I'm gonna look this shit up.

Just FYI, DJ is 126 tackles away from being our all-time leader. That will also land him right at 1,000 for his career.
