The Packers look to continue to build up and improve their Defense with this pick. Green Bay selects....Daniel McCullers, DT, Tennessee. His strength is in stopping the run. The Packers need help in that area, as their rush defense broke down in the second half of last season. Green Bay finished 25th in the league in stopping the run. The Packers need players who specialize in stopping the run, especially on early downs and short yardage situations. McCullers can help out in that area.

The Eagles select:
Jackson Jeffcoat, DE/OLB Texas http://static.foxsports.com/content/...013765_0_0.JPG More passrush! Hook 'em |
Dang. Wanted Jeffcoat, but this guy is a nice consolation prize.
The Cincinnati Bengals select Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia |
With the 124th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:
Anthony Johnson, defensive tackle, Louisiana State. Nabbing Kony Ealy in the draft is only a part of the solution to the Chiefs' defensive struggles by getting a stand up rusher to spell Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. Dontari Poe became a bartop name last season as a disruptive force on the defensive line. But Poe could use some assistance from a fellow trench warrior in the rotation, and Anthony Johnson provides that. He's comparable in size to incumbent defensive end Mike DeVito but has wowed evaluators with his speed. He probably won't dislodge DeVito or the winner of the battle between newcomer Vance Walker and Allen Bailey as a starter for the opposite end spot, but should find playing time by virtue of his speed to close in on ballcarriers or the quarterback quickly after taking a snap. |
With the 125th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select:
Chris Smith, OLB/DE, Arkansas http://media.arkansasonline.com/img/...469802b2560d37 The Chargers are badly in need of some help at the OLB position. Freeney is over the hill and Ingram is an unknown at this point with his injury. Smith may be on the shorter side for a starting OLB but he has exceptionally long arms at 34 1/8" long. Taking Chris Smith, who was missused in Arkansas' scheme as a contain guy instead of being allowed to attack the QB, gives them some much needed help in the pass rush department. |

The New Orleans Saints select: Tajh Boyd QB Clemson The Saints need a backup Qb and choose the versatile Boyd to fill the role. For some reason Boyd is falling in the draft and is a great pick at this point. |
http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/...psqzfzdywv.jpg
The Cleveland Browns Select: Jordan Tripp OLB/MLB Montana Great talent at this point in the draft can play OLB or ILB versatile adds to his strengths. Great developmental player who can eventually be a starter. |
With the 128th pick the Carolina Panthers select:
Josh Huff WR Oregon http://dailyemerald.com/wp-content/u...essee.0949.jpg |
With the 129th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select:
Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/R...g1dfPdPlql.jpg The 49ers continue to re-tool their secondary by adding Rashaad Reynolds to the mix in order to field a defensive backfield that could truly compliment their dominant front 7. |
So we have had our first 12 hour no pick.
|
Pest will pick when he comes back kccrow and broncos otc.
|
Did some one pm him?
|
My bad.....shit has been crazy. I'll get my pick in a second.
|
The New England Patriots select A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama
|
The Broncos let Knowshon go in free agency, but Montee Ball looked like a good first option. They'll still need another back in their stable.
The Broncos select Lache Seastrunk - RB - Baylor http://l1.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/mC...rts-Images.jpg |
So not to cause alarm or anything, but this mock needs to average about 9.5-10 picks per day in order to get done in time for the draft.
At the rate it's been moving, that's certainly possible. But it does need to keep moving. |
Yup, it does. Added a position tracker.
|
The Seattle Seahawks select....Devin Street, WR, Pittsburgh. Devin Street is thin at just barely 200 pounds, but he's 6-foot-3, which tells me he will fill out his body with an NFL training regiment. Street has solid hands, and he was Tom Savage's number one Receiver at Pittsburgh. A deep Wide Receiver class has hurt his draft stock a bit, but Street is still a talented player none the less. The Seahawks need to fill the void left by Golden Tate in Free Agency, and drafting Street would do just that.
|
I've been dipping hard into the defensive talent pool for Detroit in this draft and I'm going there again. Detroit's secondary was bad, yet again, and the only way to make it better is to keep drafting guys that can play.
The Detroit Lions select Kenny Ladler - FS - Vanderbilt http://midtnsportsextra.webs.com/Ladler.jpg |
The Baltimore Ravens select Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech.
http://cbssports.com/images/collegef...um-Va-Tech.jpg |
I hate to pick a Direckshun player, but geez. He's the ideal player at this slot.
The Houston Texans select Zach Kerr, NT, Delaware |
Time to give Detroit a bit more love on offense, but that player isn't going to come at WR. What many fail to see with Detroit is that they signed Golden Tate, who is a great #2 type option. Many also forget that Broyles was coming off an Achilles tear that ended his senior year at Oklahoma and that Broyles would have likely been a very early pick if not for that injury. The Lions aren't as bad off as people think at WR. Where they do lack is at the tight end position, where Pettigrew has been much of a disappointment. I don't think Detroit will get a player this year that can supplant Pettigrew as the #1 receiving TE, but they can certainly go and get a guy that will be a very solid #2 guy for a long time in the league.
That long-winded bullshit aside, The Detroit Lions select Arthur Lynch - TE - Georgia http://aug-cdn.com/sites/default/fil...o/11594445.jpg |
Good pick pest this is a bellicheck move I hope not cause I really don't want to see AJ with pats.

Yeah, Broyles is never going to reach his potential because of injuries. Stafford isn't good enough of a QB to win games with average to bellow average WRs.

With the 139th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:
Brent Urban, DE/DT, Virginia http://static.nfl.com/static/content...0000227549.jpg After signing Tyson Jackson and Paul Soliai in the offseason, it's clear that the Falcons are looking to move more towards a 3-4 front. They improved at OLB earlier by selecting Mack in the 1st, but they still need more versatile DL players. Taking Brent Urban here gives them a physically dominant but techincally raw prospect to develop under Mike Nolan's guidance. |

4th round is almost in the bag. Let's keep it up.

I really like the idea of this player more than the player himself, but eh, why the hell not. Cushing will be healthy to start the season again, so this guy can go **** himself on special teams and get stronger until he's ready.
The Houston Texans select Jordan Zumwalt, ILB, UCLA |
Jay Gruden likes taller receivers, as evidenced by the fact that something like 5 of the 6 receivers he had in Cincinnati were all 6'2" or better. Coming into Washington, he only has one receiver that breaks the 6'0" barrier and a barrage of players hovering around 5'10". I look for Gruden to start acquiring his types of players very quickly.
The Washington Redskins select Kevin Norwood - WR - Alabama http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/K...i-zVPpAdWl.jpg |
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Adrian Hubbard, linebacker, Alabama

The Jags have Toby Gerhart atop their depth chart at RB. YIKES!
The Jacksonville Jaguars select Rajion Neal, RB, UT. http://www.nooga.com/assets/6e2d55e9...b91da43862.jpg |
Ok just woke up give me a few I'll have my pick
|

The Cleveland Browns Select: Victor Hampton CB South Carolina Ok so Cleveland has a lot of picks so they have the luxury of taking chance on red flagged players. Victor Hampton is a great CB with tremendous elite ability. There is a question bout his anger problems and could cause a lot of penaltys however could add intensity to this D. |

GMs draft players that fit what coaching staff's want to do, not what a GM wants to do. When you figure that out, then it all comes together very nicely. |
Sorry guys pmd blazin right after I picked
|
Sorry Fellas, I was out all or at least most of the Day today. That said, on with the show! The Seattle Seahawks have some holes to fill at both Offensive Tackle and Guard. Seattle selects....James Hurst, OT, UNC. He didn't always look pretty doing it at UNC, but he almost always got the job done in both the Run and Pass games. This guy is a pretty durable guy, starting something like all 48 games during his Collegiate Career at UNC. He started all of his games there at LT, but might better suited to play as a Guard in the NFL. Either way he gives the Seahawks some position flexibility which is always a good thing! For the Record, I actually think this kid handled Clowney better than Lewan did.

Coaching schemes dictate player types that are scouted and drafted. Coaches are asked to evaluate players and often break ties in the processing of boards. |
With the 147th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:
Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townn...0c7c.image.jpg The Falcons needed more help in their secondary as they let Thomas Decoud go. While Dixon is a bit raw in deep zone coverage due to spending most of his college career playing a hybrid linebacker-safety role in the box for the Bears, he has good physical skills and instincts to develop into a good player from the safety position. He can drop down and cover TEs and larger slot receivers and also isn't afraid to deliver big hits over the middle. |

The Minnesota Vikings select....Aaron Lynch, DE/OLB, USF. Aaron Lynch has all the potential in the world to be great in the NFL. He is similar to Clowney in terms of his size and speed, and there were flashes of brilliance, yet Lynch never really showed his true potential in college. He transferred from Notre Dame after just one short season, and he didn't quite turn heads at USF either. That said, when the kid wants to play and actually shows up, his talent is undeniable. Here in the fifth round, Zimmer and the Vikes could take Lynch knowing the potential he has....there would still be a bit of risk with this pick, but in the fifth round, it is a risk worth taking.
|
I liked Lynch when he was at Notre Dame, but comparing him to Clowney?

Cameron Erving, T, Florida State http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_as...resdefault.jpg The Rams select Seantrel Henderson, T, Miami http://rumorsandrants.com/wp-content...-Henderson.jpg More line help for two teams short on talent upfront. |
I thought Erving was staying in school????????????
|
Yeah, redo the NYG pick, Erving isn't out this year.
