Don't know who Mac is..so maybe that was why this episode wasn't appealing to me. This episode made no sense. The stepgrandpa who was killed off in a half an episode, who nobody really likes anyway and has no real integral part of the real story line had a back story devoted in an entire episode thousands of miles a way. Just weird and just kind of unnecessary. Filler episode IMO.

It's a little to early in the season to eliminate what role this particular story may play, IMO. But, even if it's a filer, there's usually one or so of those per Fargo season anyway, so might as well get it done early. Mac is a character in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the actor, Rob Mcelhenney, played the douche bag cop in this episode. He basically played Mac as a cop. Fans of Sunny loved it but anybody else just blew it off or may have even been annoyed.

Still good but definitely not the magic that the first two seasons were. Yesterday's episode was the first time in the life of the series that I had beef with the writers. The wife immediately leaves him without a conversation even though she knows he has a scumbag brother that would certainly at least be part of a conversation about something like that. Seems lazy

I missed ONE episode and I have NO idea what is going on. I'm resigned to binging it later.

It's actually Ray impersonating Emmet but it's kinda hard to keep track. Although they barley showed much interaction between Emmet and Stella, what they did show indicated they had a good marriage. No evidence of her not trusting him prior to the video. And she had to know Ray was a bit of a lowlife. I'm sure it's not the least plausible thing ever but I just didn't buy it as sold.

Luckily ray's gf isn't dead. She's hawt.

Definitely the weakest of the 3 seasons but still good.

Yeah. But last nights episode was the best of the season so far.

I'm two or three episodes behind and losing interest quickly. The last one I saw was when the woman cop went to LA. WTF was that about...?

I agree. He's grown on me as a villain. I think people, myself included, had to get used to a traditional type villain. The "bad guys" in the first 2 seasons were folks you kind of rooted for 1/2 the time. Billy Bob was such a bad ass, you ended up liking him pretty quick and Nygaard was kind of an endearing dumb ass. Mike Miligan and the Indian dude and Kirsten Dunst and her husband(who weren't villains in the traditional sense, but weren't on the up and up always either), all were folks you rooted for in some way at various times. Varga is so easy to hate the whole time. Great job by David Thewlis playing Varga.

The episode previous was so good I'm gonna re-watch both. The girl has become quite a badass. Also, she got totally lucky to be chained to the deaf/dumb guy. He too is a badass.

You know the deaf guy was from season 1, right? (worked with Adam Goldberg's character as hitmen)? He's got the fringe jacket and everything.
The wife and I both recognized him during the bus crash, she looked it up and low and behold it's him.

hmmm. That's cool.

Guess Yuri met his demise that episode.

The suggestion was that the bowling alley was purgatory.
Nikki and Mr. Wrench told they weren't done and instructed to return.
Yuri closes with his vision of the Cossack horde he had slaughtered in the past.

Ray is a kitten, now

Hilarous, outlandish typical Fargo-esque writing style. At times it is a little too cartoonish, but you still have to love it because of how different it is compared to other shows.

I know the kitten and bowling alley part was probably not "real" but did anybody else want Ray the Kitten to attack Varga or the older Stussy at some point? That would have been great.

The character is all 3 seasons, but season 2 is a flashback, so played by a younger actor.

Yeah, I was less than totally impressed by the finale because it's hard to nail a show like this 3 straight years. Still good. Still appointment tv. Just not as good as 1 and 2

Last season was with the Parking Lot brothers and the British dude strongarming the 'successful' one into a smuggling and money laundering operation.

Obi-Wan Kenobi played both brothers.

Next season is supposed to follow up on the Kansas City mob storyline with Mike Milligan and his operations taking over from when Hamish Broker stuck him in a one-window office in some random KC suburb office park.

Obi-Wan was awful in that season. He couldn't pull off the accent at all. It was a decent story but that detail really hurt the series.

A KC mob story would be fun to watch.

Were not in Fargo anymore. I read in the paper today it's filmed in Chicago, but it's suppose to be set in Kansas City 1950. Italian Mafia against an African American crime family headed by Chris Rock. It's looks good. "You've got a panty on your head" that line brought back Raising Arizona to mind.

Ewan McGregor was so horrifyingly bad in the previous season, my wife is questioning whether she would want to watch this one. Makes sense to me, but as I recall there were boobies in the last one so I'm in.
At least, it should be way better than the Disney rehash bullshit they're going to try to pull off based on Obi Wan. Ewan McGregor is a hack.

The third season with Ewan McGregor playing two roles and they looked and acted so differently I thought that was brilliant. Although not as good as season one but better than the Jean Smart country mafia clan season two. Besides the friction and different lifestyles of the brothers, you had the crazy Russian guy trying to take over the brother's business. I guess because season one was so good with Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton the others will fail to compare.

I had high hopes for season four but after 30 minutes I had to turn off, so plain awful. BTW it's filmed in Chicago, not KC, just like the other seasons are filmed in locations other than they are suppose to be.

It seems all the things that I liked about Fargo they have deleted from season four. No Minnesota accents, no big snow or freezing temps, the year is 1950 and the others were made in the 70's and 80's and related to us much better, better character development and music that was unique. Season one with Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freedman sitting the ER waiting room have a casual conversation that turns to murder had us hooked right away.

Here's my biggest memory of Season 3, the bridge tournament. To use an Italian hit from the 70's that was basically unknown here in America as the background music was smart and made this scene even more odd. I looked up the artist and found the singer couldn't speak English so he made a song using words that sounded like English to him, I guess like when we try to speak in a foreign language that we don't know.

This season sucks!

Obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion. To me, it doesn’t suck, it’s just not as great as...well really only season 1.

That’s kinda the problem with anthology series. It’s so hard to continually ace every season. Fargo season 1 was a masterpiece. Season 2 was very good/great. Season 3 was good. Season 4 to me has been okay. Watchable, enjoyable but not some fantastic must see TV. I can only imagine if there’s a season 5 it will probably flat suck.

I'm enjoying every minute of it.

If this season has a problem, it's one of cohesion.

Seems like there is [thus far] a patchwork of set pieces and soliloquies more than a narrative. There's still time to patch it all together, but it's not easy to see at the moment how the various scenes add up to something compelling.

Agree with these takes. Its worth the time to watch. It has its moments. But, a long way from the season 1 masterpiece.

I am a big Fargo fan and was really excited to see it set in 50's KC. My old man was a cop in those days and heard some stories, etc.

But they should have made this season a few years ago. The current theme in every show these days has a large SJW undertone. It's so frustrating. Can't we just tell a story without all the guilt?

Also, Chris Rock is a hack comedian performing as a hack actor. Was sad to see Oliphant get killed off this week.
