yes, Semen was so awesome. Not like it's a team game and the teams beat their opponents. Semen did!

If Smith puts up these numbers by beating these teams, you'd be bashing him all the way.

You really suck as a fan.. and that comes from someone who quit his SB team to come to this 2-14 team. LOL

No hypocritical statements here. I would support trading for any team's second-round QB pick and always have.

Derek Carr, Jimmy G, Drew Brees, Andy Dalton...I would have and would be fine with any of those quarterbacks on my dearly beloved Kansas City Chiefs.

They'll trade for Hundley eventually and the Chiefs Kingdom will applaud the decision because he was drafted by Ted Thompson and was Rodgers understudy for years.

Silver lining in all that is a) there won't be any Hundley nuthuggers to follow him and troll CP and b) Packers fans are nice enough they won't register here to try and tell us how to feel about the acquisition of Hundley and c) the rest of the Smith cultists who have never been within a county's distance to Arrowhead won't be around any more to tell me how much of a non-fan I am for not supporting Alex.

Discuss Thrower 09-18-2016 06:49 PM

... but other than that I won't expect much from Hundley outside of some 9-7 type seasons where the Chiefs will maybe make some noise in the playoffs.

... you know... the exact same scenario we have unfolding right now.

RunKC 09-18-2016 06:50 PM

Semen is a Matt Cassel clone. Denver has played 2 home games against a defense that was starting 2 rookie corners and an Indy defense that was already one of the worst in the league before missing players.

they play at Cincy next week. Time to see what they can really do.

Per espn
The Patriots did not provide an update on Garoppolo's status after the game. However, according to ESPN sources and multiple reports, Garoppolo suffered a sprained AC joint and will be assessed day to day.

It's week 2... lots can and most likely will change over the next 14 weeks. The ability some of you have to go from really liking Alex back to he sucks, is incredible. Foles isn't any better, if he were, he'd be starting already.

I don't know if some of the issues with the slow starts this year are similar to what bit the team last year or not. Down 3-21 and 3-13 at the half of both games, scoring 7 in the two combined 3rd quarters. That's a team thing.

Alex ranks 5th in both attempts and completions through 2 games. The problem isn't really Alex, it's the ground game - KC ranks 27th in rushing attempts per game through 2.

KC was 12th in rushing attempts and APG in 2015.
KC was 29th in passing attempts and APG in 2015.

In 2016, the formula is backwards because of Charles' injury. I haven't watched all the games, so I don't know if they're not running as much or not early on... but, Alex is the easy scapegoat - KC is asking him to play and win in a manner by which he's never been asked to do so in KC. It's not who he is...

Compared to Denver... they are letting Trevor throw the ball, not exactly keeping him in a bubble, but he's in the mid/late 20s overall for attempts per game and yardage. Broncos are 9th in rushing attempts per game and 4th in rushing yards per game. That's exactly the formula they need with him.

Surprising to me that KC isn't pounding the rock more with Ware, West and company. KC is 15th in yards rushing per game, just over 100 per game with a 4th best overall 5.4 yards gained per attempt. It's early though.

The game in HOU had to be fun with 8 combined FGs... lots of 3 and outs though for the defense, compared to last week.

KC has had 14 of 25 drives with fewer than 5 plays... run more, that solves the riddle.

All this time, and you still can't get it. Easy to see why everyone.. even your "pure" Chiefs fans.. call you clueless.

In short... you will very likely be stuck with me. If Smith regresses and is replaced, then I move on to the next Chiefs' starting QB with y'all.

Alex had a bad game. Just a bad performance.

But nearly every player on offense contributed with one stupid or costly mistake. Fish had penalties. Maclin dropped some passes. Ware fumbled. Morse had a horrible snap for a turnover...

I don't fugging care. This is year 4 of Alex and Andy and this offense has looked like trash. We picked Oz off twice and did nothing with it. Smith better put on his big boy pants and start making things happen when needed and stop standing behind the OL taking sacks. Get out of trouble and make a damn play.

We should have won. A winner at QB would have got us there.

Well, being BEHIND most of the time in the first two games certainly accounts for much of the formula, currently, being backward. I'm pretty sure when we are playing ahead in the game, we will be pounding the rock more, as you say. Obviously, it's much harder to lean on the running game, when you are behind as much as we've been--especially without Charles. Hopefully that changes soon. It's really as simple as that.

This was my initial thought, too, but the offense has dug itself into the hole by not running as much as they should.

Pretty much. Some of those sacks that Smith was taking were because of him. He had time to get rid of the ball....he just just chose not to.

And for some reason....it looks like he's scared to run this year. Last year you couldn't get him to sit in the ****ing pocket. Now he stands there like he was told not to run at all.

So Alex goes 20-37 for 186. How many drops did he have, 5 at least? And how many yards extra would he have had from those drops? And what would have our field position looked like, not to mention the momentum of chunk plays?

Alex didn't play great yesterday. Nobody played great yesterday. Games like that happen. It's not a season defining game.

Some of those drops are on him. It's hard for the receiver to catch the ball when he has to jump and he's still getting only one hand barely on the ball.

And FFS Reid.....get rid of Albert Wilson. Dude is a waste of a roster spot and not bringing anything to this team.

Agreed, Alex doesn't get a full pass here. He missed guys wide the hell open, but he also hit guys right between the numbers that bumbled away the catch (I can't imagine Maclin has had a worse day as a pro, frankly). Like I said, everyone contributed to the shit fest. And like I said in the other thread, it was a letdown game after an emotional come from behind win over a divisional opponent, and it showed. Shit like this happens to just about every team out there.

Also, I couldn't agree more about Wilson. I have no idea why he's active and DAT isn't. Flip the roles between those two immediately, like right now.

Exactly. It was everybody sucks day for the Chiefs. Glad to have it out of our system in a game that I thought was going to be a lot harder to win. Let's just go win another 11 in a row and call it good. I'm not remotely worried about Alex. He'll be fine. He's genuinely proven to me what he is capable of, and this team is still going to win the division IMHO.

And FFS Reid.....get rid of Albert Wilson. Dude is a waste of a roster spot and not bringing anything to this team.

Albert Wilson and Kniles Davis are a waste of roster spots at this point. I'll be SHOCKED if Davis isn't released this week unless he was hurt and that's why Tyreek started doing returns.

I have noticed this as well. He'll look entirely different this Sunday and the fans will be content once again. He does this shit every year.

We could have had Rodgers yesterday and it would have been the same result.

Everyone played like garbage, including Alex..and the play calling was horrid.

What do you want him to do when his receivers don't do their job? Are you saying he can't throw it and catch it too?

His throws were off most of the game. Maclin and Kelce had to jump every time the ball came their way. Honestly, how many times has a WR caught a pass in stride? They usually have to stop, jump and get hit or dive towards the ground.

You can't compare Rodgers to Smith. Rodgers is already an established QB.

Great general points, but you didn't address the drops by his receivers that had passes hit them right in the hands that they couldn't seem a way to hold on to in this game.

Aaron Discount Doublecheck Rodgers is a far superior QB, but to assess that a guy who has led one team to a conference championship game (that they should've won), and another team to it's first playoff victory in 2 decades is not, is the type of shit that got you kicked out of here before. I won't ever be the one to do it Inmem, but it's hard to argue with anyone who does when you post tripe like that. Alex is mediocre and subprime to you and Clay and a few others, but you're inciting a fan base when you say shit like that. IJS...

Alex has been in the league exactly the same amount of time Aaron has, moron. He's going to get the same pension check from the NFL as Rodgers will. Ergo, Alex is every bit as established as Aaron is. There's your facts.

..and you spent all that money to go to Arrowhead this weekend.

LMAO

I know that all QBs are going to have bad game, but when it becomes a more common thing......nevermind man, let's give Smith an extension.

Money comes and goes my friend. I spent money watching Cassel and Chiefs getting killed by SD when Croyle was taking snaps. Smith isn't the only player I will get to see.

You're entitled to your opinions and I wasn't trying to censor you, I'm just saying that it's way overboard. Which to me, that's fine. This place needs the ****ing dissent to survive. It's part of the conversation for the board. I'm just saying, you're off. He's not nearly as good as some think he is, but he's not nearly as bad as what you're saying he is. Which frankly, is why we're here.

Alexander Douglas Smith: Franchise quarterback.

He's not a horrible QB. I can admit that, I do believe he's more inconsistent and conservative than most quarterbacks and that's his biggest problem. When it's 3rd and 10 don't throw a 4 yard pass.

saphojunkie 09-19-2016 10:08 AM

It's classic that Smith follows up his best game in a Chiefs uniform with his worst one. Inaccurate, indecisive, and just the wrong instincts all damn day.
