Ted Karras G, New England Patriots
The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports Patriots C Ted Karras (sprained MCL) will miss "a game or two." Karras has performed poorly in place of David Andrews (IR, blood clots) this season, but it is still a concern heading into this weekend's showdown with the Chiefs. James Ferentz will try to hold down the fort. Source: Jeff Howe on Twitter Dec 3, 2019, 1:44 PM ET Defensive Tackles should be able to get some pressure on Brady! |
I'd rather talk about the Chiefs (my favorite team)

You never know what they will do. We plan all week for the power run...boom they spread us out and pass the first 15 plays.

The big difference this year is our secondary is really, really good.

Billy. B has always been a tough one for Andy, though. Andy either has a gameplan from hell that blows Bill out of the water or it's a close game... and we've seen how Bill and Andy fair when clock management, tight playcalling, and strategic gambles come into play. |
Ware on board now mother****ers!
4.8 YPC last year. His knee is likely as close to being fully healed as possible now that it’s been two years since that injury. And he’s had more time to relax and heal. Remember that Andy used the guy to run the wildcat and read options sometimes. Patriots gettin raped by the pistol offense and college concepts you say? Ooooohhhh that’s right in Andy’s wheelhouse. |

Good luck. Gonna be a great game |

We don't win this game it is going to rip the hearts out of this team's chests. The Patriots don't have NEAR as much invested in this game. This will be the finest game of the Andy Reid era. IT HAS TO BE |

Awesome |
Should be a good game on Sunday. I am looking forward to it.
The Pats offense has been off and Brady's numbers are not good, feels like 2013 all over again and even a little worse. The D has given up points against Houston and Baltimore. On the road, but still points given up. The Pats have a chance to make a statement on Sunday. Time will tell if there will be able to make that statement. the rookie WRs need to show up and play. Our run game needs to get in gear too. KC look solid against Oak and looking like they are back on track, so that is great for KC for this game and the rest of the season and playoffs. |
If we lose....then be prepared to hear “Mahomes can’t win the big games” for ****ing ever.
|
I truly believe we have been purposely holding the offense back so as to not peak too soon and put our best plays on tape. In this game though we will unleash Reid’s wrath of plays with guys getting favorable mismatches and players running wide open. We will then shelf it all again until the playoffs as it won’t be needed. But in this game we will see Hardman in space, Kelce on slow LBs, and Hill getting some long balls.

Buffalo can beat this Pats team
We're going to grab the 2nd seed. |
In the two previous match-ups with the Patriots last year, the Chiefs scored 71 points (41, 30), and with fewer weapons, Hill was still just a couple weeks from his ankle injury, and Watkins was still nursing an injury.
We're going into this game healthy on offense, and almost healthy on defense (assuming Clark will be a go, but Ogbah is of course out). The weather looks favorable for the Chiefs to air it out, and in spite of all the injuries and issues, the Chiefs have averaged 29.0 points/game. The Patriots just 19 points/game over the last four games. The Patriots defense hasn't been elite for awhile now; they're average stopping the run, and their secondary has only managed 1 INT since the BAL game (they led the league in takeaways up to the Browns game). We got this. |

Our magic number is two. Any combination of Chiefs wins and Raiders losses that equals two and we are in. So in reality we may not even need to win another game. For the standings this game is much bigger for the Patriots. Even with a win we need quite a bit of help to get a bye so it’s not that big for us. But I do think it is huge for our confidence. |
Shit, I wonder if the Pats might even go in vanilla, saving their best stuff for a playoff game with us.
Coaching is all those brokedicks have. They can't afford to burn their best stuff on a regular season game that is now largely meaningless. They'd rather do it against Buffalo anyway. |

This week is all about ball security.
This New England team is a lot like that Denver team that won the Super Bowl, but with slightly better QB play and a worse pass rush. Don’t give their offense short fields. Make them drive the length of the field and show how sad their offense really is. No ****ing fumbling this week. |
If the Chiefs are clicking on O. I can easily see this being a blow out. If they go turtle conservative and then step on their own dicks, well then we will have a game.
Reid needs to pull out the creative stuff this game and hopefully Mahomes isn't too jacked over throwing guys to start off. We get one of those early leads and keep the foot on the gas we cruise this one out. Now someone just needs to tell Reid that. Also go for it on 4th and 2s 4th in 1s no bullshit. |
This Pats team reminds me of the Chiefs team that went 9-0 and then limped into the playoffs. Only difference being and bad offense as opposed to a bad defense. They are being exposed by the good teams that hit the schedule at the end of the year. Chiefs should win this if they want to be considered a SB contender.
|
One of our managers in this office who's a huge Patriots fan is avoiding me like the plague this week.
Good omen? I think he's quite scared of this weekend and I think Mahomes is very due for a stellar passing day. |
Oh and the Pats still haven't found a kicker yet. That's crazy going into a huge game.
|
Toub better have the ST squared away because the Pats STs are excellent.. I don’t not want to lose on a blocked kick or punt... Hopefully it won’t hinge on a FG or a late game punt...
|
Just went back through last January’s matchup on A22 *gulp*...
The one thing above all else that kept this offense from succeeding early was protection. They really had a hard time passing off the Patriots defenders as they looped and twisted on several occasions. It got better as the game wore on, but life was still difficult on Patrick. That’s the thing to watch Sunday as it relates to whether or not we can put up points, avoid negative plays, etc. Unfortunately, our offensive line hasn’t given us much reason to believe that they’re any better this year. But I’ve gotta believe that many man hours have went into working on these exact looks that NE likes to present. If there was ever a game to plug Wisniewski in... |

Andy isn't inserting a new member on the OL without an injury. You guys need to get over it.
If the OL can hold up, we'll be fine. Otherwise, it could be a repeat of the AFC champ game where they kicked the Chiefs ass for 3 quarters. |
