Odd, considering no one else will be playing at that specific time on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

8 of 17 prime time games.

Don't worry, Buffalo will petition the league to get that changed.

Bowser 05-14-2025 08:13 PM

I like that we get our bye in week 10. I also like that we get both the Lions and Commanders here for primetime games. Good stuff.

Based on the projected win totals from the oddsmakers, the Bills have the fifth-easiest schedule in the league behind the 49ers, Patriots, Saints and Falcons. That’s quite a change from 2024 when they had the 10th-toughest schedule yet still went out and won 13 regular-season games and their fifth consecutive AFC East title.

The final SOS has them listed tied with the Chargers at 27th. So more or less the same

Is there an algorithm that factors in team strength and then---miles traveled, time between games, monday/thursday/saturday games,

I will never get past the three games in 11 days schedule last year. I know we went 3-0, but that should never happen.

dlphg9 05-14-2025 08:55 PM

Yes, finally a Thanksgiving game!

Lmao, they did it to us twice this year

Game on the 16th, 23rd, 27th of November. Broncos, Colts, Cowboys.

Dec 14th, 21st, 25th. Chargers, Titans, Broncos

Hark Clunt 05-14-2025 09:50 PM

schedule seems way less crazy than last years. christmas being on a thursday helps a lot. starting the season in brazil is tricky, but get through that and i don't think there are too many complaints.

we're basically doing what the cowboys usually do. they often play their thursday night game within a few weeks after thanksgiving to keep some rhythm.

Yep. It was 3 games in 10 days last year because Christmas was on a Wednesday. Every team pretty much has to do 3 games in 11 days whenever the have a Thursday game.

ChiefsCountry 05-14-2025 11:34 PM

NFL said we going to break some tv records on Thanksgiving. Chiefs vs Cowboys damn that will be a monster. Packers vs Lions should be good one and the Bengals vs Ravens at night.

No doubt. Finally, a turkey day worth watching football!

fuzzy 05-15-2025 02:49 AM

We very rarely get a gimme. If there is such a thing in the NFL. The Chargers and Bronocs are now decent to good. The Raiders have some talent too. Then we always have to play the Ravens and Bills as division winners.

had not really paid attention yet, working on other things

Lord, they love to throw shit at the Chiefs.

ThaVirus 05-15-2025 06:15 AM

For the record, they do that to other teams as well.

Last year, IIRC, the Chiefs, Texans, and Steelers all played three games in 11 days during that Christmas stretch.

The Lions also did it earlier in the year.

ThaVirus 05-15-2025 06:17 AM

Basically, if you play a Thursday game without a bye week that month, you will play three games in 11 days. Most teams play a Thursday game at some point in the season so I’d bet a lot of teams deal with it.

Yeah, the stretch at the end of last year was so ****ing overblown by fans, especially since the teams that played on Wednesday had played each other the previous Saturday and were all in the same boat.... then the Chiefs looked better on Christmas Day than they had all season. Of course, getting a couple guys back helped, but you'd expect everyone else to die on the field of exhaustion by how much people whined about it all season.

Every fan is hyper focused on their own team; they don’t even stop to consider things from the other perspective.

It’s like the ref thing. Eeeevery fan thinks the refs are out to get their team lol

Also, right now the three premier franchises in the AFC are in Kansas City, Buffalo, and Baltimore. At some point we will have to come to grips with the fact that the league is not out to get us.

No elite QB
Douche bag coaching staff
Boring offensive gameplan
No one out outside Philly loves them or hates them

Other than being a perennial good team and Super Bowl Champs, they are not a sexy draw.

The You tube game because it'll be broadcast world wide, will break all TV ratings even though its not on TV. :D

They have plenty of skilled players on offense. Barkley should be a big draw even if Hurts isn't Mahomes/Allen/Lamar. In any case, they're a big market and the Super Bowl champions. Let them play some of these marquee games. The Chiefs playing on both holidays is unfair to the Chiefs and to other big markets.

Because America was rooting for them to beat KC in the SB to prevent a three-peat. They did that now America is going back to not caring about them.

Quit being a ****ing reerun about it. We have the greatest and most popular athlete of the generation on the Chiefs. We will be back to shitty noon games on regional CBS that you so desire when he retires.

I'm actually surprised the NFL puts any decent games on Thanksgiving... it's like free massive ratings for them. I think the Cowboys/Giants set ratings records and that was an awful game.

They should just take the Lions and Cowboys' worst home match up every year, then shove a couple large markets down our throats for dessert.

It’s unbelievable that these ungrateful ****s bitch. I’m spending all my money on getting my kids to the games during this era and am glad I got my 9 year old to his first last year.

The odds of it ever being as good as this Golden Era are borderline impossible. No team has ever gone to 5 Super Bowls in 6 years.

This is the only opportunity with this dynastic version of the Chiefs to play in the annually most watched regular season time slot… the Thanksgiving afternoon game in Dallas… so the NFL didn’t want to pass up on a chance to set a ratings record.

Next time the Chiefs are scheduled to play in Dallas is 2033

Without Kelce. Without Chris Jones. Likely without Andy Reid and (hopefully) with a 38 year old Mahomes.

Maybe. The 17th game recently added (and possibly 18th game) could result in the Chiefs playing in Dallas again sometime sooner.

This, I too think the Chiefs go 13 - 4. Split with Chargers and Broncos, Colts and Bills.

AFCCG = Chiefs @ Ravens

NFCCG = 49ers @ Eagles

SBLX = Chiefs @ Eagles again? :hmmm:

Division will be better but we’re still the top team. I don’t see Jayden Daniels winning his first time at Arrowhead in a prime time game vs us also don’t think the Ravens are beating us at home.

The Packers as the visiting team received confirmation they were playing in Brazil last year in early April.

So yes the Chiefs are getting less lead time when you compare to other teams.

They’ve got all summer though. Almost 4 months until the game. I’d imagine they are already getting the rookies and other players verified for passports.

I can’t be happy enough that we are doing this week 1. I love it and I’m sure the players will love it too.

Sure it sucks playing in the heat in Brazil, but the time zone is the same and it’s week 1.

If we were to poll players across the league, I’d bet the overwhelming majority of the would say that if they could, they’d want to get the international game over with early instead of mid season.

A major reason we lost in Denver 2 years ago was bc we were looking ahead to the Germany game vs the Dolphins the following week. Even Sean Payton shared that opinion about us too.

philfree 05-16-2025 11:20 AM

Not a bad schedule. No three game road stint so that's good. Some home game nooners is good as well. The ****ing Brazil game against a division opponent sucks. If it wasn't against a division rival I'd say play that game like a preseason game. Starters get a quarter and then then Gardner and the backups come in.
