Plus, we all know that dark times can come to any program with surprising speed. Pinkel could leave for greener pastures and we could replace him with football's equivalent of Quin Snyder. Stranger things have happened. As Patton (or at least George C. Scott) said, all glory is fleeting. |
Mecham to start for KU
Too bad I won't get to see it on TV....That brings up an interesting question. With one game less each week next season will all big 12 games be televised? |

This is what MU and KSU fans have been going through for years. I know it's weird not to have a KU game on tv. |

KU could just run the table and lose every game in Big XII play this year. They are at 10 losses and counting. Anyone know what the record for consecutive conference losses is?
LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Third-string quarterback Quinn Mecham is expected to start for Kansas against Iowa State on Saturday as Jordan Webb and Kale Pick both cope with injuries. The Jayhawks (2-5, 0-3 Big 12) will be without wide receiver D.J. Beshears and running back Deshaun Sands this weekend. Coach Turner Gill said Tuesday both will serve one-game suspensions for unspecified violations of team rules. Mecham, a junior college transfer, played his first minutes for Kansas in the final drive of Saturday's 45-10 loss to Texas A&M. He finished 0-for-1 passing and was sacked once. Webb started against the Aggies but left in the second quarter with an injured shoulder. He's second on the depth chart but listed as doubtful for Iowa State (4-4, 2-2). Pick suffered a concussion against A&M and won't play Saturday. |
