No, you're not.

What's the first thing I do when meeting someone new, whether it's a business acquaintance, my child's classmates parents, new co-worker, boss or even neighbor?

Check them out online.

We aren't talking about you. You do realize that everyone isn't exactly like you, right? That different people have different experiences and do things differently? That a Hollywood big shot like yourself might be different than a small town kid?

The debate among teammates wasn't whether or not Manti actually knew this girl - it was clear that they had been in contact; no, players just didn't think that it was fair to call Lennay Kekua Manti's girlfriend, period (it is well-known on campus that he has had relations with other girls during his time at Notre Dame).

They recognized what was going on for what it was - a terrible publicity stunt used to fuel Manti Te'o's Heisman campaign. In fact, many of the players privately commented that they didn't want the students to wear leis in support of Manti and wouldn't participate themselves - they cited that the team never responded so publicly to tragic events for other players. But there was also the feeling that Manti didn't deserve to benefit from publicity from the death of somebody he barely knew.

How many more reports until we find out that all the pictures of the girl were just Teo in drag?

There's an article from Deadspin (I think I linked it after reading it earlier today) that quoted a teammate (not named) as saying they knew he'd "had relations" w/ other chicks on campus but did not clarify further what was meant by that term. Could mean banging all of them, could mean he took them out for cokes.

Who the heck would draft this guy after this?

Sorry, the minute he left the small town and entered the Notre Dame campus, he was no longer a small town kid.

How old are you? How many college aged kids do you know? I know quite a few, especially since we have several in my family.

These kids live and breathe Twitter, Facebook, Intstagram and texting. My 4 year old daughter has had her own iTouch since she was 20 months old. She routinely, on her own, Skypes with both sets of grandparents. Hell, even MY parents, who are in their late 60's, Skype with their nearly dozen grandchildren routinely.

There is absolutely no way you're going to convince me that Manti Te'o couldn't get his girlfriend to Skype with him ONE SINGLE TIME in four years.

That is absolutely absurd.

He may fall out of the 1st round, but that is about it.

His performance vs Alabama is more damaging than this, IMO.

He was bound to be nothing more than a 2nd rounder because he's slow as shit. Once he hit The Combine, everyone would know he doesn't even run a 4.7 40.

This story is barely a day old and more damning evidence is being released. The guy will be lucky to go in the 4th, if not drop out altogether, just like Vontaze Burfict a year ago.

whoman69 01-17-2013 04:43 PM

I don't want to run through 50 pages of replies. Has anybody said pics or GTFO?

MMXcalibur 01-17-2013 04:43 PM

Te'o is either a major ****ing idiot or a ****ing scumbag.
One or the other.

Not trying to convince you. I don't give a shit about you in any way.

I'm not even saying Te'o is innocent (if you had really read my posts objectively you would have seen this). Unlike you, I have not made any absolute statements. I have just explained why it is possible he did not know. You are the one saying it is absolutely impossible he didn't know. So I'm just stating an opinion, you are making a statement of fact (that is really just an opinion).
