I agree with Marcellus 100%. If you think there isn't anything wrong with all the lazy a** kids in their 20's still living with parents, then you are part of the problem. Those are probably the same kids that have never been disciplined in their life.

So you think lazy 20 something year olds living at home are a result of not being beaten enough as kids?

I just wish I would have been born back in 1900. The world must have been a perfect place back then. What with the direct correlation between each passing year and the degradation of society as a whole and all.

Jimmya 09-15-2014 02:36 PM

Obviously there is a difference between beating and disciplining. I'm not with Peterson, but I do believe that lack of discipline in today's society is making people lazy and allows them to live off the government or off their parents.

My son is 22 in college. Pursing a doctorate in Astrophysics. I have no problem with him living at home. I'd rather he concentrate on school than spending time working at shitty jobs to pay for a shitty apartment. This makes me a bad parent?

Just step in his room and give him a good lashing once a week or so to ensure he stays on the straight and narrow.

Your Dad of the year medal will arrive in the mail at some point.

The one thing I love about the Chiefs, they keep it real and draft like it's 1964 still.

Jimmya 09-15-2014 02:40 PM

Surely you aren't cooking and washing his clothes for him?

LMAO

The one constant in an ever-changing and frightening world.

Shitty football.

Keep whistling past the grave yard.

If you think things are just fine, we will have to agree to disagree.

Growing dependency on govt hand outs, fewer people paying taxes to fund them equals what?

Obviously we are getting off track, I was simply responding to the large number of "this isn't 1965 anymore" comments because I think that in itself is a seriously lame argument.

Not everything we did in 1965 (before I was born BTW) was wrong or has no merit today. I am not an old fuddy dutty, I ma 43 years old for Christ sake. I just see some disturning trends and feel our liberal shift has created much of it.

One more example, where I run a manufacturing plant we have a multitude of jobs paying $17-$18 an hour with great benefits and have a hard time finding people willing to work for a living. That's insane.

I'm done. I need to get back to work myself, people on welfare are depending on me.

LMAO

Old guy laments change. Wishes for (insert blue bell ice cream jingle) "the good ol' days".

He might even let him take showers without chipping in on the water bill.

You get a high five.

It's a private desire that my kids stay near home while they attend college. I don't tell them that because above all things I want them to be problem solvers. But if I can have my cake and eat it too, I will.

I'm guessing his favorite flavor is Butter Pecan.

Pronounced 'pee-can'. Has a nice cup of coffee after his sweets to settle his stomach as well.

**** that shit. He does his own clothes and he cooks for us. Does shit around the house and yard. Retro fitted a boat dock. Fixed the in ground sprinkler system etc. No free rides. School is more important because its your future but even though you don't have to work a shitty job to pay for a shitty apartment while in school doesn't mean a free ride. We all have freight to pay.

Getting your ass beat sounds like a solid reason to move out to me...
