I was at the game last night. Impressions:
• I got a Mizzou Royals cap. Cool!
• Since it was Friday the 13th and Mizzou Night, I knew the evening would be full of fail. That's just he way it is.
• I saw my pal Truman Tiger and James Franklin coming in to the park at Gate B. Very cool!
• The stadium is really beautiful. Clean, nice, just a great place to see baseball.
• For you young single guys, there are TONS of beautiful young women at Royals games. I saw two redheads that were yummy, and there was a flat out beautiful oriental chick -maybe Thai or Filipino-with long dark hair and long legs sitting right in front of me. She was probably 18 or 19 and melting concrete hot. Yowza....
• Ned Yost is a pinhead. Chen should have NEVER been allowed to give up that second 3-run homer. And then when he did, might as well let him finish the inning. Instead, Yost burns a reliever. Turned out to be a shortage of pitching later. Bad move all around.
• Hosmer is totally lost at the plate. Cain almost matched Hosmer average in one game. They may need to bench Hosmer until he gets right. Something is in his head right now, and it ain't baseball.
• Betancourt is a bonehead. He has no range at second. And his pop out in extra innings on the first pitch (after Dyson drew a walk) was stupid. A pass ball at that point wins the game.
•Broxton with a major choke. They probably would have lost in regulation if Frenchy and Perez don't make a great play gunning down a guy at the plate.
•Cain has a good arm in center. If he can stay healthy, he may be a good one. He's wearing Willie Wilson's number.
•Moose has one good AB, and sucked the rest of the night.
•Perez makes our pitching staff and defense infinitely better. He calls a better game and has a cannon for an arm. Pena is woeful in comparison.
•Dyson should be sent down today for his boneheaded base running. Pitiful.
This was a crushing loss. We're now scraping bottom in the AL again, only Seattle and Twinkies are worse, and not by much. Very disappointing to have sunk this low with all the "future stars" playing on the big team this year. We'll be lucky not to lose 95 games this year.
