Pioli might stay but Hunt might also have something else in mind.

Counter-balancing a rod isn't leverage.

2-14, #1 overall pick in the draft.

Well, the Colts were 2-14 a yr ago with the #1 pick.

It was the worst team, but it's not the worst franchise.

jesus, you are obsessed

It's about Hunt keeping his current GM until he knows he has a new one.

insurance,leverage .... whatever

Yes. Because there's a chance that he won't be able to find a new general manager, leaving him with ZERO GMs if he fires Pioli ahead of time.

With no GM in place, the franchise will just have to fold, I guess.

WTF are you talking about? Insurance? For what? Your fallback position would be to promote Farmer and he would be a better choice than Pioli. So there's your insurance.

Leverage? In what? Negotiations with a potential replacement? I'd say that leverage goes away the moment you actually do the interview with his replacement.

Keep on spinning, but this is nothing more than raw cowardice.

BigChiefFan 12-31-2012 01:41 PM

Petro already weasling out.

I liked the Haley hire and still do, and anyone who thought it was a terrible hire is talking revisionist history. At the time pioli was hired, he was the only thing close to a good candidate on the market.

Hunt hired pioli and it appeared that the option was either hire Haley or let herm lame duck so that in 2009, the chiefs would get to search for a coach in the first wave. Pendergast is a classic example of a lame duck hire because of what was available at the time. Once we knew haley was in, herm was out. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw something similar here. I don't care how it's done, as long as it is done and pioli can't demolish this franchise any further.

January 13th is very late?

February 6th, Todd Haley is hired - over 3 weeks later.

You saying "most HC's were taken" is ****ing bullshit.

Jaguars have a playoff win more recently than the Chiefs and a better W/L record in the 6 seasons since Clark took over as primary owner after Lamar's death.

jesus

So your looking for possibilites instead of using the evidence that is right in front of you? Or is that a rumor too and you can't believe it?

The Franchise 12-31-2012 01:42 PM

Did this ****ing douche watch the same game?

Geno Smith did NOTHING down the field?

Seems like that would actually deter future Gm prospects from talking about the job.

I don't know. But history shows us that hunt has done this before, so I'm just saying its not a clear indication that pioli stays.

And no, I don't think it deters gm prospects. If they get a call, they know why they are being called. As long as that's hunts intention versus trying to sell them on working with pioli which I'm not saying isn't possible.
