So I haven't read through the thread. Are there any other reports with any certainty as to who the team is?

Man I hope that isn't the case. He built up a lot of good will this past offseason to then turn around and take a giant shit on the fans.

Would really make this fanbase look like a bunch of ****ing clowns.

Hey at least we would fit in with ownership and management.

Hell no...

Do you think Cassel could have done what Smith did in those last two minutes of the Saints playoff game last year? I don't think so

they didn't spend 15 minutes talking to QBs and watching them throw against air and then make a snap decision...i mean i hope not, that would be embarrassing

No way they made a snap decision. These talks have probably been going forward for weeks and weeks. I said they probably have been working all the options... and might have very well decided to finally pull the trigger on the offer after seeing what happened today.

Trent Green started 23 career NFL games before he came to Kansas City.

you know what's funny?

Trading a 1st for Green (and I think it turned out to be a good trade despite us not winning playoff games because he performed very well for us) is more comparable to the Matt Cassel trade than us trading for Alex Smith this year.

Alex Smith has done something Trent Green (or Matt Cassel) never did (win a playoff game) and he also performed exceedingly well in that playoff game against the Saints two years ago.

So fair is fair.

This will be the most accomplished QB KC has traded for since Joe Montana.

Again, these are just facts. I already went on a Facebook rant about Alex Smith.

I want Geno more than anyone, or as much at the very least. I can still be objective about NFL players though, which seems to be tough for many on this board.

DonTellMeShowMe 02-24-2013 07:51 PM

Word of advice, might want a stud TE...he and VD had a thing and I don't think Moeki is gonna cut it

CaliforniaChief 02-24-2013 07:52 PM

If it isn't a QB at 1.1, then I want a playmaker. A guy like Patterson, Austin, Milliner, someone who makes big plays. Especially with the depth we have available at LT with Albert and a strong FA class.

ProFootballCentral@PFCentral

Also one HUGE snag in contract talks with free agent WR Dwayne Bowe is legit QB and that has been accomplished today. Bowe very happy

I agree. As much as I would hate this, I liked the Reid and Dorsey hires as did most. I'll have to bite my toungue and hope for the best. SOC should be dead at this point. This regime needs to be given 3 to 4 years regardless of our opinions on the QB situation.

It bares repeating... Matt Cassel vs. Alex Smith:

Matt Cassel - 62 career starts:
82 touchdowns
13497 yards
57 INTs
59% completion
80.4 passer rating

Alex Smith - 75 career starts:
81 Touchdowns
14280 yards
63 INTS
58% Completion
79.1 passer rating

Once again, how the **** is Smith better than Cassel? 13 more starts yet his numbers are slightly better at best.

If Bowe thinks Alex Smith is a legit QB, he is one stupid mother ****er.
