So the wife just posed a question (and I wouldn't ever want this to happen, but not knowing the answer and being moderately intrigued I though I would ask here knowing someone would know).

When you bet on a game is there a contractual understanding that the bet is off if something happens (like a fan jumping out of the stands and sticking a knife in Peyton's leg)?

If yes, then it makes sense why it doesn't happen.

If no, then I'm surprised someone has never tried such a thing right before the game to move the results.
