When was the last time a BCS conference hired a D2 coach?

Side note:

One of the assistants will be Brad Loos, who was with Anderson at CMSU.

I'm sure he will also be a dynamite recruiter at the D1 level.

I'm sure that recruiting for CMSU is pretty similar to recruiting D1 basketball players.

Welp, one good thing about the recruiting is that he surely will never get the 2 best college players in the nation like Self had last year that he lost 10 games with. We won't have that to worry about

they can't say "Don't go to a D1 school, come here and win a championship"

what will teh sales pitch be now?

Don't go to Kentucky, come to Mizzou where you can get more playing time ROFL

TribalElder 04-28-2014 04:57 PM

It's definitely a different direction. If it works then everyone will be excited but if it doesn't you rinse and repeat in a couple years. I could see Anderson staying over Alden though LMAO

Thing is, I don't even know what to make of Anderson winning a Division 2 title. If you look at the roster, most of those players are juco transfers, and most are from Missouri originally. I'm sure that you can get 6 or 7 transfers onto a team and go a long way in D2 basketball one year, but what in the world does that have to do with running a D1 program?

I don't want to hear this BS about character and solid fundamentals and all this other BS that has nothing to do with winning games. I want the team to be relevant again. :banghead:

The last 2 teams they played were athletically superior during the title run, Kim just outcoached the other team.

D2 has nothing to do with D1, it was a bitch ass move by Alden

For what it's worth, and this is a free site, I just talked with a friend who works with pro agents...he said rumor was Howland wanted Donovan type money, so you are in the $4 million range and top 5 NCAA BBall coach salary.

Great hes bringing his D2 coaching staff with him. Yay.

Where did you see this? I thought his staff was up in the air to include the possibility of Fuller staying (which would mean Gant likely stays committed)?

Can we get Alden out of here before he has a chance to hire Marty Morningwheg as our next football HC?
