See how easy it is to score runs when you hit homers?
|
Here comes Lynn's meltdown
|
Elevate more fastballs, you dumb ****.
|
Lynn was sailing along, then we score and he lets down.
I've seen it a hundred times |
This is so unpredictable.
|
Bad pitching and bad luck is an awful combo.
|
Seriously, dude, they are giving up an out, just toss it underhanded up there.
|
When was the last Lynn start that didn't end in a meltdown?
|
I don't even want to watch games he pitches at this point. Lynnderella strikes again.
:shake: |
I like how Lynn just totally quit in that AB. He looked much more interested in pouting in the dugout than trying to help his team.
|
How does Holiday miss so many letter-high 90 mph fastballs? Lohse has grooved him every AB and he hasn't hit one of them hard.
|
Descalso's range is just so, so horrible.
|
Last 2 games for Wong........4 hits and 3 steals.

This zone went from a shoebox to a Dumpster.
|
Holliday's rocket jump caught by Aoki and Wong's screamer to Henderson pretty much explain this night.
|
Yay Westbrook on the mound tomorrow.
Lets see if he can make it out of the first without giving up 5 runs. |

He has now given up 5 in 4 2/3 with runners on 1st and 2nd... Matheny finally gave him the hook.

Westbrook is just plain shit. I cant figure out why they extended him. |
Looks like they hung on for the win.

Wow
Westbrook on his start: "Not exactly what I wanted, but a step in the right direction for me, I guess." How in the hell is that a step in the right direction? He gave up 4 earned runs in 4 2/3! |
Quote:
I don't expect him to go to the pen because of his issues of taking so long to warm up. They might come up with some medical reason to put him on the DL, but I expect a release. |
I highly doubt they release him. Given Kelly's propensity for only making two good passes through the lineup, Lynn's for spontaneous combustion, and Shelby's for racking up very high pitch counts, Westbrook as the long man is the most likely course of action for the Cardinals.

Hayward has a broken face and Uggla is out. That may help.

Yeah you are on the right track. |
Is anyone else scratching their head over the handling of Molina's knee? He plays a day game after a night game, against the Brewers? But sits out tonight against the stronger Braves? Matheny says Molina says he's good to go, he plays? When is Molina ever going to say I want or have to sit out a game?
Does anyone else think that Molina played to give westbrook a better chance? |
Or maybe he wanted to win the series and this begins a 4 game set where he can get him a break?

"I think the plan we’ve deviated from, obviously," Mozeliak said, referencing the outline the team, its medical staff, and the player had discussed when Yadier Molina came off the disabled list. "I think with a player like him he’s obviously going to have some say in whether he can go or not. We welcome that type of feedback. The past few days have gone fine for him. From a medical standpoint, I don’t see any restrictions. I think the answer really is you have to have a lot of trust in that player. Not everybody gets the opportunity to weigh in like that. The ones you are allowing to have some say in that, you have to really have a lot of trust and believe that they are going to give you the right answer. We have had other players in the past who get to this level. Yadi is deserving of that. A player of his ilk you want to give every chance." Check out more here: Read more at stltoday.com › |

Third time through the lineup...His offspeed stuff just isn't good enough to survive more than two passes.

Matheny is so ****ing stupid and Carpenter just bailed his dumb shit ass out.
|
What did he do now?

What did Matheny do now Hamas?

It's additionally troubling because he's running Kelly back out there. |
I'm watching Halloween Season of the Witch. **** this game.
|
the ball is just not carrying out at Bush.
|
... SEE?!?!?!
|
Thats what I figured you were talking about.
If Kelly could improve his breaking pitch to an average level, I think his fastball and change would be good enough pitches. |
Quote:
Right now he's somewhat like Wacha, save that his fastball is better but his changeup isn't nearly as good. The difference is that Wacha's curve will probably end up being a solid pitch, which is why he'll likely settle in as a fringe #2/solid #3. |

Quote:
I'm not insinuating that he'll ever be more than he will be, IMO, he's a ceiling #3 SP'er. Wacha's ceiling might be a little higher than that, like you said, but I'm becoming a bigger and bigger Joe Kelly fan with each start he makes. |

I don't really know how/why that would be but who knows. |

Don't look now, but the Wedding Singer is heating up.

Awful.

I also really like having Robinson and Wong on this squad and in the lineup. Speed really helps.
