I'm okay with this criticism. Here's the rub. I've been here a long time. I helped Kyle build this site from 50 pilgrims to what it is today. I say this not asking that you kiss my ass but that you trust that what I'm telling you is based on a lot of experience at running a site like this.

I understand the nuances of an internet community such as this. Hootie and those of his ilk are entertaining and they're typically good for sporadic traffic surges. What they're not good for is long-term community viability. Eventually something has to give and frankly, I'd rather ban 5 Hooties (and have) than risk losing two or three more veteran contributors.

Contrary to what you've been told about my tenure at WPI, I built that place into a half-dozen posts per day board to thousands of posts per day in under a year. I understand and I care. That's why I do some of the things I do on this site. I'm not perfect and I've made plenty of mistakes over the years. I used to have time to take young guys under my wing and integrate them into the community. I don't have time for that any longer so my methods are perceived as harsh or sensitive. That's fine. When Kyle thinks my methods are out of touch and not in the best interest of the long-term growth of ChiefsPlanet he'll ask me to step down and I will.

Right. Because, you know, I don't show up to work every day, work hard, pay my taxes, pay my bills, abide by *most* laws, call my parents/siblings on their birthdays, say please and thank you, tip well, etc. etc. etc.

Sadly, I think I have my life together better than probably most of this board. I wasn't young and dumb and rushed into a marriage that wouldn't work or spouted out 5 kids I couldn't pay for...I was smart enough to realize I wasn't mature enough for that and acted accordingly...

I always find that insult towards me hilarious. In terms of responsibility, I'm one of the most responsible generation Y kids there is...I literally haven't missed a day of work in 9 ****ing years. Work ethic has allowed me to do the things I enjoy doing (boozing, womanizing, etc...)

So yeah.

There are a ton of posters on here whom I really respect that just can't stand hootie, so I feel like I'm missing something obvious about him. I really just don't get it. The "date rape" thing is complete and utter bullshit and everyone knows it. Shitty posters go down that well when he's made them look stupid, and they have to go to the whip. It's like Thatguy playing the race card.

Is he an attention whore? Sure. Who cares? There are tons of those on this board. At least he does it I an entertaining way. The "I'm so great" persona is his shtick. That's not to say that he doesn't believe it, but he lays it on thick because of how worked up people get. It's not hurting anything.

He has good football takes...good basketball takes...good baseball takes... He never admits when he's wrong, but neither does anyone else on the internet. Even when he is proven wrong, he knows what he's talking about, so it's not like his takes are just random and stupid. They're just wrong.

The fact that he gets grown men in their 30s...40s...50s...etc. so worked up over nothing says more about them than it does hootie.

If someone can give me an actual, tangible reason to want hootie banned, please do so. I'm more than willing to reevaluate my opinion of him.

If you have received a permanent ban and you come back under another ID, you can be banned at any time for no reason. If you are banned, communication with the forum is prohibited. This means no videos, pictures, or text is to be posted on your behalf in the open forum by a proxy.

This is fair too. I'm not nearly as much fun as I used to be because this used to be my exclusive outlet for silliness. Now I get a portion of that obnoxiousness out on facebook.

You gave me a reason that he could be banned. I am looking for a reason someone should want him to be banned.

here is my issue with my banning and will always be my issue:

It's ChiefsPlanet.com...during the football season, you're not going to find a single poster that stays more on topic and talks more football than me...and not just generic football, I bring legitimate good takes to the table and no one disagrees.

Phil banned me because he PERSONALLY didn't like the fact I called him out. That's it. I promise.

I say this because Phil left. DaFace was, for quite a bit of time, THE SOLE ACTIVE moderator on this board. I rubbed DaFace the wrong way. I don't think you're going to get DaFace to say he likes me as a poster. I don't think he does. He would interject on many of my "attention whore" posts and tell me how ****ing stupid he thought I was (in a much nicer tone, of course). However, he never banned me or probably even considered it. Why? Because I wasn't breaking the Planet rules...and if I was, regulars get a longer leash (see DaneMcCloud and the reerun breeder incident). He was the absolute voice of reason/used no vendettas against posters. He knew that wasn't his place as a moderator. That's the ChiefsPlanet way. No reason to ban someone just because you don't like them or don't understand their lifestyle etc. etc. etc.

If you can get DaFace to come on here and tell you he agrees that I should have been permabanned then I'll STFU about it. But I don't think he will, because I don't think he did.

It was evidenced in the poll that was started where literally 95% of the voters voted that I DID NOT DESERVED TO BE BANNED. Those were the real stats UNTIL you changed the poll...

I was an everyday regular for 5 years who was pushed to the limits and given ammunation by someone who had already been warned not to use the infraction system to issue a temp ban to me...the dude wanted a reaction and he came to the right guy.

In no way, shape or form did that ever deserve a permaban. AustinChief and I have done nothing but get along since I've been on this board.

No one EVER suggested a banning from me when you were at WPI or Fatchatter and DaFace was running the show. Everyone knew on the Planet...you don't get banned (if you're a regular), unless you spam porn or make life threats. Just because someone was dumb enough to poke me with a stick repeatedly while giving me his life secrets doesn't mean I'm the bad guy.

I have no problems with calling the Phil/Hootie truce where I never mention you or quote you or post about you and you do the same. For some reason, I doubt you'll agree with these stipulations. Why? I'm not sure.

This is untrue. Can you explain why Patteau, Saul Good, Zach, or any other person who has called me out haven't been banned. Remember the thick skull criticism I levied earlier? This is an example of that.
