Re: Thomas Robinson's, "this tournament isn't that important" comments after last night's loss. Would Mizzou fans be a little annoyed if Marcus Denmon said something similar after a loss? I mean, I get it. His team lost so he is trying to rationalize it. But, if you were a ku player, playing in a city that ku is so desperately trying to stamp as their own, would you make those comments?
Doesn't really matter, though. His huge pay check is coming regardless. |
Hope we lay it on Baylor tonight...
T-Rob's comments would slightly annoy me but he does what he does. I felt he couldve had a better game |
tickets were selling for as low as 20$ a piece earlier on....
I know Mizzou has beaten Baylor twice this year but they need to come out firing on all cylinders if they want to win. They cannot afford to overlook them. Mizzou needs this win if they want any shot at a possible #1 seed. I think if they win, they will take KUs #1 seed from them. I can't see how a 6 loss KU team that did not win the tournament, nor even make it to the finals gets a #1 over a 4 loss Mizzou team that wins their tournament, especially seeing how they split the regular season series.

I just got an email from Frank Haith!
Tiger Nation, We cannot thank you enough for your support so far this season. Tonight at 5 pm we take on Baylor for the Big 12 Tournament Championship at the Sprint Center. We hope you are able to be there in person in Kansas City. Please arrive early and BE LOUD. We need you to help us create a home court advantage at the Sprint Center. We want to hear that Black & Gold pride tonight. Help us show the nation that this is Kansas City, MISSOURI! Our coaches, team and staff are proud to represent the University of Missouri and with your support we can bring home the Big 12 Championship to Columbia tonight. Please come out and support these young men that have poured there heart and soul into Mizzou Basketball. Thank you & Go Tigers! Coach Frank Haith p.s. Please join us tomorrow for our Selection Sunday Event at Mizzou Arena! Doors open at 4 pm. |
I couldn't care less about a 1 seed. The real prize is the St. Louis region, 1 or 2 seed.
If we're playing in St. Louis, I like our chances against any team in the country. |
I was just looking at Joe Lunardi's prospective brackets and noticed that he has Mizzou potentially facing off against Matt Painter's Boilermakers in the round of 32, fwiw.

Team 1: 3-3 vs Top 25 10-3 vs Top 50 SoS - 80 Non-con SoS - 311 #16 RPI #8 KenPom #7 Sagarin Team 2: 7-4 vs Top 25 11-5 vs Top 50 SoS - 6 Non-con SoS - 50 #6 RPI #4 KenPom #4 Sagarin There's really no need to talk about conspiracy or "the name on the jersey" if KU ends up in St. Louis (and you there will be butthurt no matter who gets St. Louis). KU lost to a team that was in the top 5-10 for most of the season, and even if Missouri wins today, the numbers won't favor Missouri. That said, I could see KU getting the 4th #1 in Phoenix and MU going to St. Louis as a #2... if Missouri wins today, the numbers will be close enough that outside of SoS, it's pretty much a coin toss. |

If team #1 is Missouri, then they are actually 6-1 against teams ranked in the top 25(ISU, KU, Notre Dame and Baylor) and Kansas is 6-5(Duke, Kentucky, Baylor, MU, OSU and Georgetown). |

I thought this was scheduled for 5 PM?
I want my MIZZOU basketball!!! |
Wow. Knight teared up about Pat taking Lamar to the tournament.

You'd think that as many Mizzou games that Knight has done, he would know that it's Pressey, not Pressley.
Nice pass
Nice.
BOOM English
Denmon!!
What the **** was that shot?
Gonna get killed on the glass again tonight. Hopefully those shots keep falling.

Uh oh. Denmon looks hot
Denmon says he's due.
Baylor soft in the middle.
This is more like the game they played the first 3rd of the year
Great start.
OMG Rebound please
nick wright @getnickwright Close
Been saying it for a little while now... Missouri's absolute best is better than your absolute best... That includes Syracuse, Kentucky, etc |
Couldn't take advantage of the horrible foul call.
Acy sure has quick hands
That was a clear charge...WTF?
If it's a foul, call it before you see if the freaking shot goes in. That's happened for both sides now.
ENGRISH
STEEEEEEEVE!!
Missouri has hardly any fouls. Might as well do some hacking under the rim
TAUT
we are going to have to keep driving and drawing fouls. Baylor is big but slow.
Nice play
RATRIFF

Wonder who will have the legs in the second half

Good half for both teams
Damn good game so far.

We've gone a little cold from 3. Need to pick it and the rebounding up in the 2nd half.

Baylor's one of the few teams that can run with us. Will be interesting to see if we try to run their legs out. Of course Missouri would be taking the chance of running themselves out plus English and Denmon are gimpy

That looked like hot potato there for a moment.

Great start to the 2nd half.
the start of both halves has had Baylor calling quick TO's.
Nah....KC's not Tiger country...
