Pioli wanted to let Bowe and Albert walk, hire Ferentz and keep Cassel...drafting Joeckel to replace Albert.

That's all been documented.

I hope these guys keep Albert, re-sign Bowe, draft Geno, release Cassel, restructure Jackson and win playoff games.

All this except Jackson. Im done watching him suck even if its for cheap. The only reason the bum hasnt been cut by now is because it would have looked so bad.

Yes, as Chiefs fans we ARE desperate for a QB.

Yeah, Steve Mariucci has not idea what he's talking about when it comes to quarterbacks.

I'll take his word over your observation/opinion.

Just another sheep in our reeruned fanbase.

He is going to make the argument that he only said Ferentz would go to KC if Pioli was kept. That once Pioli was let go he was no longer claiming it would happen.

It was nice to hear the crew give a good amount of support to Geno today. In being fair, some of these guys we called idiots for prior comments so their support here can't be used as proof of anything, but it does seem they are coming around. Charles giving Geno love for his effort off the field studying tape was great to hear him say on air.

There are still people who want us taking Wilson over Geno (mostly over at Arrowhead Addict). Clay should transpose Wilsons head on one of those Tiny Hands BK commercials for the whole commercial.

This board's Geno Boner is pretty big. And awesome. And I like it.

But going back to 2009, there was a serious Sanchize Boner. Which one is/was bigger?

The Geno boner is way bigger. The 2009 draft was a bitter ****ing clash between like three different mindsets. This year? I've never seen CP so unified.

Yeah, it was a pretty unbearable off-season. CP wasn't even enjoyable most of the time. I don't remember the various arguments for QB that year outside of Sanchez. Was Cassel actually championed by a collective group on CP before we acquired him?

Pablo 02-24-2013 03:54 PM

I was pretty sure this boner is bigger; but thanks for the reaffirmation fellas. 2009 just seems like such a long, long depressing time ago.

Yep. There are guys that like Wilson better here, Barkley better there, but that's not a big deal to most of the board, and it's understandable.

It's because most of the people here have a pretty high football acumen and Geno's potential is undeniable.

I am continually surprised at the level of optimism I see in this thread that the Chiefs will somehow get a clue and draft Geno. They have basically already come out and sworn to everybody that they won't, in a very clear, no-way-in-hell fashion. Like I think a plane full of other players would have to crash on the way home from the combine for them to even give it another thought. It's not like there is any reason for them to smokescreen. They have come out so strong on this that now if they were to draft Geno the first question would be, "wait, didn't you tell us that there wasn't even a QB worthy of the first ROUND?"

**** Reid. **** Dorsey. **** the Chiefs. It's not happening. The commitment to mediocrity will continue.

It's over guys. Alex Smith is our quarterback. Geno will obviously be gone by #34.

based off of ownership and past dealings I'm thinking it's the Bills if anyone...or the 49ers trying to drive up his price by saying he's "no longer on the market and a deal is done"

kcchiefsus 02-24-2013 06:13 PM

Personally I would trade for Alex Smith AND still draft Geno. It's a lot to invest at QB but we likely need 2 or 3 new quarterbacks anyways and it's the ideal situation to let Geno play only when he's proven that he has earned it, not because he's the only option.
