Here's the thing...I don't think KU or K-State have anything to worry about, as far as being in a BCS/AQ conference.

It could be the Pac-16, Big East, or the Big XII.

IMO, the Big XII is most likely, with 1 new member.

OK, we have Tech AD Kirby Hocutt saying Big 12 must get back to 10 immediately, now Gary Pinkel takes aim at conference unity. Not good.

If you get Pinkel riled up, you've accomplished something.

I've heard him in front of 3 different radio guys and each time he just says "Look, we're just here to play football..."

I even heard him get a little bit annoyed with Spitz and Will in Columbia when they asked him about it about a month ago.

Pinkel's done everything he can to stay above the fray here and I'm really surprised to see him start launching shots now, even as tame as that one was.

Best thing that could happen right now, from my perspective, is tagging 3 schools. Why not create a complete and total religious mess of it and snag BYU, Notre Dame and SMU. I would absolutely love to see a semi-annual matchup between the Catholics and the Mormons. Clark Hunt would donate Arrowhead for an SMU-Mizzou matchup or SMU-KU Matchup. Hell. it's all pie in the sky anyway, why not wish big?
