They should also blame the QB in the wr drops it. It's only fair.

That isn't what I'm arguing about that, I'm arguing that TD completions aren't exactly the best way to judge a QB.

I think a better way to judge a QB is by completion percentage, interceptions etc.

But you could make a case that a QB's completion percentage could be higher if multiple WRs didn't drop passes.

Probably old news already, but Pats will cut Tully Banta-Cain. He needs abdominal surgery, but that should only shelve him for 4-5 weeks.

No idea how the Pats plan to have a pass rush, but that's another story.

QBs should be judged on (1) winning, (2) completion percentage, (3) Int percentage, and (4) TD/INT ratio.

Not much else is relevant. Winning comes into play in the sense of trying to judge his leadership and intangibles. Obviously, he could be stuck with a crap team, and you need to factor that in, but what makes the great GREAT is that they win. More than anyone else on the team, it's the QB's job to will his team to victory.

Some of you mother ****ers are so fixated on a name player that was good 3 years ago it's sickening.

Marion Barber is dogshit.

He is younger and gets stuffed at line of scrimmage, perhaps that is the comparison...?

That won't be a problem here.

We'd be stupid to sign him to be a FB only.

Dude is a perfect option to take over for TJ. Give him 200 carries, let him block a bit.

Versatile enough to do both very well, while opening up a roster spot.

mcaj22 07-26-2011 12:44 PM

Seriously, Marion Barber sucks

this shouldn't even be an argument

Why are you so angry?

the Talking Can 07-26-2011 12:44 PM

how's this for a laugh:

Marion Barber contract 2008:
He signed a seven-year, $45 million deal in 2008, with $16 million guaranteed

Jamal Charles contract 2011:
Signed a six-year, $27.97 million contract. The deal contains $10 million guaranteed, including an $8 million first-year roster bonus and $2 million of his second-year salary.

Exactly, and of those attributes you listed, the will to win is the toughest to judge, due to the intangibles needed. That is what makes getting a great QB a difficult task, and why they don't grow on trees.
