The Chiefs gave up two premium picks for Alex Smith.
And Smith played the good soldier and mentored Kaepernick, and what did that get him.

In his place, there isn't a single person that wouldn't tell the next young guj, "You're on your own, rookie".

Good. I would expect nothing less.

That's why we have Andy Reid and Doug Pederson.

Not if your thinking beyond your career considering coaching in the future. Apparently, smith was one of the main people coaching Kapernick according to Harbaugh. So maybe AS has coaching in his blood. Maybe AS isn't a complete selfish asshole and is willing to be a mentor/coach/teacher.

Also, what veteran are they going to get in FA? We need a veteran on this QB staff.

I really think they are going to draft a QB and they are going to groom him.

Good post.

Join us in the real world, where people value their jobs.

And not playing the good soldier now is not going to affect his future azs a coach.

Further, if you believe that Alex Smith played the good soldier after he was benched for other than selfish reasons, I imagine there are other myths that you believe in, as well.

Yes, michael oher did, and he failed, and has been since moved back to right tackle. But you arent listening. Unlike the rest of the league, Andy Reid, a former olinemen himself, doesnt have a favorite of the two. He values both the same, being left and right.

you dont know alex smith. It was not selfish on his part at all. Thats the way he has always been. Thats who he is. It hurts him a lot, because he doesnt have any diva in him. Brett Favre blowing off aaron rodgers and making a public stink about coaches wanting him to mentor him, and refusing to do it, probably kept him around in green bay at least one year longer than ted thompson really wanted to.

Alex Smith had he become a true distraction this year, could of really ruined things.

rumor is, and its a strong one that he wont make it past arians at 7. seems logical, geno smith is not an arians type. he wants a more traditional passer.

People who think they know athletes, celebrities, or anyone in the public eye are idiots.

in Alex Smith's defense

he has the #1 charity in ALL OF PRO SPORTS that actually acts like a non-profit and does NOT pocket the money. They give back at like 91% of the proceeds and that is ****ing amazing when you think about it.

Guy's llike A-Rod and their charities donate like 1 percent and keep the rest for themselves.

So really, Alex Smith IS one of the best professionals in sports, he's just a really shitty player due to his limited athletic skill set.

Matt Cassel was also a nice guy too, didnt get him very far on the field.

there is always one thing you know about an athelete. When you destroy a locker room ala terrell owens, when you leave, your teammates TRASH YOU, your front office trashes you, they label you a cancer.

Alex Smiths teammates, have done nothing but commend him. Trent Baalke who never liked alex smith, complimented him, kaep has complimented him, aldon smith, vernon davis. In most forms you are right. No one has ever had a bad thing to say about the guy off the field or as a leader. Its his inability to play at a high level that gets him trashed.

So, i agree with you, but in this instance you are incorrect.

mcaj22 03-10-2013 12:55 PM

i'd love to see that wishlist Alex Smith gave the 49ers of teams he wanted to play for

probably had 5 teams on it at max that he knew he had a snowflakes chance of starting for.

Hmmmmm, will he be the #2 CB???...

Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen

Will Dunta Robinson start at CB for Chiefs? His contract suggests no. Here are figures from a source: $4 million http://sulia.com/my_thoughts/e4326a2...source=twitter
