Christ, great deal Mo!

Then again, I would have applauded the deal had he gotten a couple of 5-gallon buckets of David's Sunflower Seeds in return, so...

The guy's a little league coach trying to manage a big league ballclub.

ah...i guess.
i've just seen the "bible study" thing dropped several times and thought what you just said, but it didn't make sense.

He'll give Matheny some rope, but if he's staying stubborn, he'll cut his legs out.

This time it wasn't even a bite collar, it was a straight up teeth extraction. It makes me feel a little more comfortable in my hopes that, when the time is right, he'll put the old boy down...

It's a pretty easy pill to swallow when you get beat in the playoffs by your arch rival and your instate neighbor won the World Series after you won a 100 games. You can cut bait with the stink real quick.

I saw "Jon Jay traded" and was just happy to clear the payroll.

Getting a guy who is exactly the RH utility IFer with pop that Mozeliak said he was looking for coming into the offseason for him is just outstanding. It's even more incredible when you consider that Gyorko does have some upside left. He's probably not All-Star candidate that he appeared to be as a rookie, but he's just hitting his prime years - there's still room for development here.

Then again, Matheny managed to make Bourjos a complete non-factor within a month of his first season here so I am confident he can sufficiently bury and mind-**** Gyorko as well. The good news is that I'm getting more and more confident that Mozeliak will pull the trigger on Matheny if he keeps this shit up.

In many ways, losing to the Cubs may have been exactly what this franchise needed.

So what about trying Wong at SS some, he has the arm and Peralta only has 1 year left doesn't he? Or is Gyorco the guy to take Peralta's place?

Wong is not a good fit at SS for anything other than emergency duty. My guess is Gyorco provides a platoon option at 2b, plus a back up option for both 3b and SS.

Cubs signed Zobrist to a 4 year $56M deal.

VAChief 12-08-2015 06:48 PM

Mo has done a good job of adding by subtracting so far. Even better with filling a need in the Jay deal. The one guy I would have liked to have kept was Bourjos, but his offensive numbers were horrid. I just thought he was one of those guys that if handled the right way may have taken off.

I do like that it clears a path to see what Pham can do if he can stay healthy.

Chris is even worse on the radio than he was on the field. Pathetic this clowns daddy is still getting him jobs.

Wong doesn't have the arm of Peralta. His release is extremely quick but there's not much force behind it. He's strictly a 2b. Moreover, the fact that he plays defensive like a hyperactive puppy and could pee on the rug at any moment would keep me from even considering him over there.

The kid seems like he's constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown; putting him at SS may be just the thing that puts him in a bell-tower...

Braves just got a haul for Shelby. Damn.

Look at who is known to be regulars in Matheny's bible study and then who get chance after chance to play regardless of how many times they fail? It's not BS. There was a book out that talked abut Mathenys faith and his bible study classes inside Bush.

ChiefsCountry 12-08-2015 09:07 PM

Be a good time to call the Braves about Freeman. Need for major prospects not as high now.
