Greinke sucked but the real crown jewel of that trade Yuniesky Bentancourt really came through today!

As Freese, Frucal and Jackson have already done, if we are going to win this year it will be beacause some role player stepped it up and not the stars. Happens on every team, every year.

Didn't happen for the Brewers today. Their stars stepped it and bashed the ball.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-09-2011 06:19 PM

Six RBI from Braun and Fielder today essentially match the entire production of Pujols, Holliday, and Berkman in 16 games combined.

don't worry...they are terrible on the road...steal a game at Miller Field and you'll be in good shape

They have got hits too it just hasn't produced runs. Thats what I'm saying tho, our big bats are hitting singles where there big bats are driving in runs.

And Albert had a couple turrible atbats today. Seems like he is still pressing.

While that is true, I'd just as soon take one today so that the team could be loose with an edge for tomorrow's tilt.

Gallardo's a really good pitcher, and HFA or not, I don't trust Garcia for shit. We can lose any game of this series, there isn't one where we have a decisive advantage.

O.city 10-09-2011 07:07 PM

This is true. I think this is hopefully going to be a really good series. Too bad this week and next week is full of midterms, crown preps, and dentures for me.

Enjoy your first NLDS in 29 years. You sacrificed a lot of young talent to get here.

If we win tommorrow, your team is in big trouble.

You only need to steal one. Do that and you have a huge advantage, maybe bigger than normal with how MIL played between home and away. You had a meltdown inning against a team that dominates at home and you still were in it til the end.

And they did it without having to hit a single good pitch.

Jaime Garcia is a spineless ****ing coward. I hate him, I hope he never wears the BOTB again.

He's Mark Mulder to me from now on. There is absolutely no way I will ever forgive him for the chickenshit lawnchair impression he pulled yesterday. He was scared out of of his ****ing mind from the first pitch and threw nothing but belt high dogshit on 80% of his pitches.

That was seriously the most gutless performance I've seen since Mark Mulder decided he didn't want to be on the mound anymore after that grounder found a hole in the 2005 NLCS.

Quit being a pussy, Garcia - you're better than this.

I took a shower last night and while listening to ESPN radio, tried to think of what Garcia's performance reminded me of. I tried to think of horseshit, choking dogs. Mulder was the first thing that popped in my mind.

I agree wholeheartedly

Frazod 10-10-2011 08:31 AM

Damn, yesterday was brutal. I was in the car driving home - turned on the game in the middle of the 5th inning and was thrilled to hear that we were up 5-2 - a few minutes later we were down 8-5 and I had a bloody knuckle from punching the dashboard. ****ers. :#

Oh well, it's just one game.

DJ's left nut 10-10-2011 08:32 AM

It was like every damn hitter on the team was Casey McGehee.

That schmuck destroys us because he's NEVER had to hit a good pitch against us. I swear, he just sits and waits until someone throws him an 87 mph cement mixer in the center of the plate and belt high - then he hits it 500 ft.

I got really damn tired of hearing how awesome Milwaukee's offense was after they were planting BP fastballs and hung changeups. It's not like they were fighting off brutal pitches to stay alive - no, they were just spitting on balls and swinging at every single strike because they knew it was going to be sitting on a tee for them.

Is there any pitch in baseball easier to hit than a hung changeup? Jesus, it's hard not to get good wood on a one of those things. They hang up there for so long that if you're looking to drive a ball up the middle (pretty standard practice), they'll come in just slow enough to make sure you get your arms completely extended and pull the sumbitch into a corner. If the pitcher gets lucky, you'll manage to hit it so squarely that there's not enough backspin on the ball for it to carry over the wall. I'm pretty sure Garcia decided to pitch backwards off his hung changeup yesterday.

It also reminded me a lot of Anthony Reyes combined with Garrett Stephenson. He just kept going back to that cockshot changeup (a Reyes move) and decided to check his stones at the door (Stephenson all the way).

Dammit that outing pissed me off. **** that guy and **** the Brewers.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 11:03 AM

If Carpenter has the guts of a cat burglar, Garcia has the guts of a turd burglar.

you guys are over reacting to one game. Same thing happens tonight, panic. But remember we are playing with house money.

Tonight is our best chance to take away home field advantage from these a-hats.

O.city 10-10-2011 05:30 PM

Damn what I woudln't give for a healthy Wainwright going tonight. I am starting to hope they keep Edwin Jackson around if at all possible.

And to go along with what you guys are talking about, it was a pretty deer in the headlights performance by Jaime. The guy is a number 4 starter at best. Hopefully we pull this one out tonight with Jackson on the hill. We really need the big bats to show up in a bigger way.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:06 PM

Jaime's a mental midget. He'll never be anything more than a passable regular season starter.

That's funny, I thought the 5-2 lead after 4.5 was our best chance.

I'm not overreacting to one start, the guy is a six inning, choke artist bitch. Great pitcher against terrible lineups who hack at everything, awful against quality opposition.

crispystl 10-10-2011 06:13 PM

Damn just like that two nil

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:13 PM

Atta boy, Albert, BIG KNOCK, BABY, BIG KNOCK!!

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:15 PM

I hope Marcum continues to prove the axiom that junkballers suck rat shit in the postseason.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:18 PM

What the hell were you looking at Berkman? That was a ****ing meatball changeup. Dumbass.

OnTheWarpath15 10-10-2011 06:22 PM

I'm starting to think the PD should write pieces suggesting Pujols is struggling/choking more often.

I swear, every time an article like today's (http://www.stltoday.com/sports/baseb...6aa59227a.html) appears, Albert has a big game or clutch hit that night.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:23 PM

STFD and STFU, T-****.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:37 PM

This pitch trax is set about six inches too low.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:39 PM

Lit up by Betancourt and Jerry Hairston, neither of whom who would be owned in a 20 team fantasy league.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:40 PM

Throw ****ing strikes.

And that's a strike for Marcum but not Jackson.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:45 PM

Jesus mother****ing Christ.

jd1020 10-10-2011 06:46 PM

Looked like Pujols was saying "I got it" and he lets it drop and just looks at Molina like wtf dude?! Catch that!

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:48 PM

Stuff like that lops weeks off my life. I'd have a ****ing stroke if I was a manager during a PS game.

1st inning: Albert hit one 900 feet

Jackson worked around a jam in the 2nd

Jackson hit a flare that T-**** dropped

Jay got a seeing eye single down the third base line on a hit and run

Albert is up with runners at 1st and 2nd and one out, 0-1 count.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:58 PM

Way to go, Joles, BIG KNOCK, BABY, BIG KNOCK!!

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 06:59 PM

O.city 10-10-2011 06:59 PM

Would have been a spectacular catch. The flare that dropped for Jackson was in his glove for almost a second before it popped out. Very easily could have been a 1-2-3 inning.

O.city 10-10-2011 07:01 PM

Couldn't tell you man. But now that I am here, it is really awesome. Outside of the 28 hours this semester, the dental part is awesome. We really get to do some pretty cool stuff. It just sucks going thru this part because we have dental classes (endo, operative, fixed prosthodontics etc) as well as biological classes like micro and pathology. I see my first patient in 3 weeks and have to do a basic restoration then turn around that saturday and do my first anesthetic on a classmate. So it's getting really exciting.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 07:11 PM

Sit down, T-****.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-10-2011 07:12 PM

This ump's zone is shit. For once the Brewers get boned.

Jackson strikes out the side.

Love power pitchers in October. Love them.

Yeah we don't have a choice, we draw numbers to see who we give and get from. It's pretty nerve racking.

Hamas, what do you think about keeping Jackson around next year? I think he would be a damn fine 3 behind Waino,Carp.

I think they would. If we could get Miller to come up and be what he is supposed to be, throw Lohse in there if he can stay healthy. I would be trying to move Jaime. Get whatever you can out of him.
