Why? Quick kick optimizes field position and avoids injury risk. Seems like a perfectly good call to me.
Denver is going to lose. There's no mercy rule though -- you gotta play the last 10 minutes or whatever. You want us to hand them the football to be nice about it? Seriously, what do you want them to do?

If injuries are such mammoth concern, why have Brady do a quick punt? In fact, why have Brady in AT ALL with the lopsided score? Would I be wrong in thinking that the punter or backup QB is more important than Brady? And what's wrong with doing a "normal" punt on 3rd down? If the quick punt was on 4th down, then I can somewhat understand catching Denver off guard there a lot more rather than it being 3rd down (remember though, it's 45 to ****ing 10 with 3 min. left.).
You can sit here and argue it all night, but I see it as a dick move and (surprise, surprise) Patsie fans are going to defend it fervently and come off as if I walked up, spit in your face and punched your kid in the side of the head. Belichick's an asshole, this is common knowledge.
