In other news, our starting pitching continues to be inefficient and just down right shitty.

O.city 08-31-2013 06:14 PM

I'm so tired of watching lance Lynn pitch. He's just mentally unstable.

That's pretty much a guaranteed loss at this point. He needs to be ****ing scrapped.

O.city 08-31-2013 06:19 PM

I know some have said Lynn's a respectable 3rd starter, but I just don't see it.

Now 7-1.

**** you, Lynn. 4321

He might be if he weren't such a gutless one who sucks the penis. All of the criticism about Garcia's mental makeup goes doubly for Lynn.

He has a 3.73 xFIP this year, which is about what you'd expect from a nice third starter, but I'd never, ever trust him in a big game, and he proves it with every pants-shitting he delivers past July

Furthermore, the Pirates are an absolute matchup nightmare for the Cardinals, and I fully expect them to drive a ****ing stake in their hearts at Busch next weekend.

We've got to win tomorrow and take 2od 3 in cinci to have a chance in that series

kcpasco 08-31-2013 07:33 PM

At this point I would give Lynn's starts to either Wacha or Martinez. The guy has clearly hit a wall again and needs to sit or get sent down. I wouldnt even trust him in the pen.

Miller just seems to not pitch well against the Pirates.

Good news is we got our best pitcher going tomorrow.

'Hamas' Jenkins 08-31-2013 07:38 PM

I don't really trust any of our starters right now. Nor do I trust our offense. Shit, the only two players on this team I really trust right now are Matt Carpenter and Siegrist.

You probably won't see the Cardinals play a worse inning this year.

Honestly, Matheny should have had kept Martinez up to start this game, even if it was a brief outing. Pitchers who go 120+ probably need 5-6 days of rest. Having a rested Wainwright start the road trip would have been a big bonus. Instead, Matheny is always playing checkers.

Well, whaddya know? Dipshit throws an obviously gassed Wainwright out there on the fifth day instead of the fifth turn and he gets his ****ing teeth kicked in again.

That was some ugly at bats. Swinging at balls that hit in front of the plate.

Wong looks overmatched. Don't know if it would be worth putting him on the PS roster.

He has hit well at every level. I like him better than Freese in the lineup. Freese is not hitting and he's a liability in the field.

They called up Jackson, hopefully they will give him a shot at SS. We can't do worse. Surely he can hit .240.

Wong had 111 wRC+ and 120 wRC+ at AA and AAA. That's decent, but not all that good.

Freese is at 102 this year. He was 133 last year. The team is not better with Wong at second. In fact, when you put Carpenter at third and Descalso at short, the left side of the infield turns into a defensive abomination.

Picked a bad time? This team hasn't done dick on offense in almost a month, and before a two game outburst, it was shit for weeks before that, too.

I know it's been a while, didn't realize a whole month. Our pitching has been choppy for the same amount of time. Jeff Locke, our All Star hasn't won a game since All Star break and his ERA is about 7.50 since the break. Our newly acquired guys from the Mets and Twins are doing good.

Locke is a piece of shit and his luck was bound to run out. You can't pitch for an entire season with an ERA that is half your xFIP.

BigRedChief 09-03-2013 07:47 PM

Great game by Wacha. Its just to bad this offense decided to go into one of these bad slumps again. I hope Miller has a good one in him tomorrow because Lynn will probably get lit up again Thursday.

kcpasco 09-03-2013 08:25 PM

Just think where this team might be if it wasn't for Kelly since the AS break. Ya Kelly is probably getting extremely lucky but their is no question that he is the Cards 2nd half MVP.

Starting on Friday night we play 19 out of our final 25 games at home. We play 19 games against sub .500 teams. The Reds/Pitt play each other 6 times.

Supposely Waino was tipping his pitches. Not a physical issue. Waino/Kelly/Wacha/Miller could get the job done in the playoffs.

After 2006 & 2011 how can any Cardinal fan count them out? Shit happens in the playoffs you never see coming.

DJ's left nut 09-04-2013 05:37 PM

Oh c'mon.

You haven't figured this out by now?

Every time a pitcher sucks, it's because he's "tipping his pitches" in the Cardinals organization.

With the Royals it was always "He's landing on his heel".

Wainwright wasn't tipping his pitches, he was throwing rolling curves and 90 mph cockshots. Did you watch him throw? I can't imagine you did if you really buy that bullshit.

Now that's not to say he won't get it back - pitchers have dead arm periods. But no, tipping pitches had nothing to do with it. He was just throwing slop.

This times 1,000. Especially after 2011.

O.city 09-04-2013 05:40 PM

I think the "tipping pitches" had more to do with our manager constantly overusing said pitcher and allowing him to throw 130 pitches in a game we had a comfortable lead in.

O.city 09-04-2013 05:42 PM

And on que, Shelby isn't efficient and can't get guys out.

Matt Adams

Overmatched

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-04-2013 07:44 PM

Adams is really, really overrated as a hitter. Sadly, I think the shine is off him as a player and we'd get little-to-nothing of value if we moved him.

And Wong should absolutely not be playing in crucial games down the stretch. He's Kozmaesque at the plate.

Kozma, Delcasco are hitting .170 since the All-Star break. Surely Jackson can hit better than .170?

Adams was playing because of injury. He is not ready for prime time. The book is out on him.

O.city 09-04-2013 07:52 PM

Nope. Gotta run Descalso out there against Chapman so he can hit the ball 18 inches.

For the life of me I will never fathom the luck that fell together for a team with an offense this shitty to score runs like they did in the first half. This is a bad, bad offensive team.

He can't hit anything. He missed Duke's two 90mph fastballs by a foot. I can take him K'ing on 1/4 of his ABs if he had legitimate power, but the fat sonofabitch is slugging .270 since the break

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-04-2013 08:07 PM

This is the type of bullpen that got us a WS in 2011. Starters having trouble going deep. Bullpen piled up the innings. It's just not Siegrist and Rosenthal its everyone they throw out there. It's been that way for a couple of weeks now.

You don't need a BP that throws nine shutout innings, you need one that can give you three and an offense that can score more than two runs per nine innings.
