Kentucky hates KU with the same sense that MU hates them. I could see a pretty good fight being put up over accepting KU into the SEC.

So basically you are using a somewhat invalid argument to say that KU would be more attractive than MU?

I could understand if you were saying that KU trumps K-State, ISU, Baylor, etc.....but MU offers more all around than KU.

Plus the Big 10 likes the MU academic status. In the case of the SEC, the academic status wouldn't really matter.

Plus...I can tell you that the SEC would have some members who are Basketball Powers who would want nothing to do with KU being in conference. (UK & FL)

This isn't about academics. Both MU and KU are AAU members. That's a moot point. When someone is really sick in the KC area where do they send them? KU Med, not some Missouri hospital.

I'm saying that the KU brand is much more valuable and recognized my university presidents.

I know a message board is no way to gauge the actual intentions of an institution, but most KY fans actually want KU in. They want the profile of SEC basketball raised.

I guess we will have to disagree here....and using KU Med as an example weakens your case.

Huh? My sis lives in Louisville. There's no animosity either way. Actually, it's respect.

Really....not what I get from people I talk to around here.

(please note I live in the heart of UK Wildcat country)

Nice reach....

Its not a reach, its an example of the difference between "something generally good" and something "outstanding". It reminds me of this story this baseball scout told.

"I was scouting two pitchers for a club. One, I wrote down: good control, good speed. The other I wrote: wild, outstanding speed."

Guess which player the club took?

I call Bull $hit on this...not that your sister lives in Louisville, but that there is no animosity.

Trust me....there is major animosity. They may respect each other's programs but there is no love lost on either side.

Nope...probably not since I have may friends who work there.

I highly doubt this.

See...I can agree with this. Given the correct setup Basketball would be a large revenue generator and could set up the formation of a basketball superconference.

I think this exactly what will happen.

Ku, KSU, and ISU will head to the Big East to form a basketball superconference, helping to counter the football superconferences forming and still keep BCS AQ status in football.

Apparently Kentucky puts more weight into this "rivalry." Visiting Kentucky I saw nothing to propogate anything. I guess it's one-sided. Kentucky hates KU, KU doesn't notice.
