Bob dutton got a question about Kyle Smith's stuff, and he said he "got guys out".
Gee Bob, ya think. Dude is an idiot on twitter. |

This feels like the move a GM would make if you told him that he must make the playoffs by the end of 2014 or he's fired.

Weird. Cain supposedly was about to come back to the lineup (although we know how that works with the Royals).
If Cain's going on the DL, the trade makes sense. Otherwise, we have 5 OFs, and that would suggest a Maxwell-Lough platoon with Dyson as a Herbie Washington, or occasionally spelling Cain vs. RHP. I dunno, that kinda seems too fragmented for me. We'll see. |
I've always ready Smith probably ends up in the bullpen. If that is the case we have plenty of bullpen help I don't mind moving one that is in A ball.
Not the trade I was looking for, but i think Maxwell helps the team if Cain is hurt long term and is better than Dyson. |

DM, proving once again, that he's a mother****ing stooge. |
He's a Right Handed bat who hits lefties really well, has some speed and some power.. why wouldn't we want him for a smallish pitcher in A ball?

This only makes sense if Cain is hurt....otherwise this does NOTHING for this year or 2014
|
It's about the smallish pitcher's value.
I don't mind moving Kyle Smith for big-league help. I mind moving him in an overpay. |
The trade deadline has passed.
Which doesn't really mean much for a couple hours. Most years, at least 1 or 2 trades take another hour to be known if they were submitted to MLB for approval in the final minutes. |
Yay 2b is still shit
