I can honestly say I have never sent him a question. It would be a complete waste of everybody's time.

Because of the question or the response?

I do like that Tejada keeps getting starts at 2b. If he can sustain his current production, he would be similar to some of the guys we were pursuing.

Cooper, Parks and Law all agree on it.

That's my Holy Trinity of Baseball Prospect guys.

I will step off the ledge.

I've always heard that Smith's upside is Aaron Crow.

All of it.

johnsickels ‏@MinorLeagueBall 6m Smith/Maxwell is shocking. Really. That would get vetoed by some fantasy commissioners
That seems like a wild overreaction.

FUN FACT: John Sickels is married to a woman who was one of my sister's friends from high school.

LMAO That's kind of what I've been thinking too.

MLB Network was just talking about how there is no hitting, and that the Rays hit pay dirt getting Myers. Reynolds argued on the Royals side and said w/o Shields the Royals wouldn't even be in the playoff discussion.

Pretty compelling argument's from both sides really.

Just keep Tejada at second. He is producing as of late.

Without Shields? True. Without Shields and with the likes of Liriano, Lohse, Myers? False.

Yeah, I gotta go with the scouts on this, especially since all the big names agree that Smith isn't much.

Looks like a bunch of statheads looks at the numbers and flipped out. At about AAA is when you can start to ignore the scouts and only focus on stats, but in the low minors the stats dont mean a lot.

That's probably all true. They did hit paydirt with Myers. The Royals wouldn't be above .500 with a Santana/Guthrie/Chen/Mendoza/Hoch rotation. At least I don't think.

Even if Maxwell is productive, just not sure how much impact that would be as the right-handed part of a platoon. How many ABs is he getting rest of way? I don't think that even translates to one win, especially since Lough hasn't struggled against LHPs anyway.

An upgrade at 2B would be bigger. I'd love to know how hard DM tried to fix that.

"Kyle Smith for Howie Kendrick. No? OK, oven off."

I bet Dayton Moore is the kind of guy that, when he's at a party, says "Could I have everyone's attention for a moment?" then just farts loudly.

Silly me...to think Dayton gets invited to parties.
