John Buck is the anti clutch.

Olivo is Betancourt with less plate discipline and a little more power.

I am in no way endorsing kendall's adderhol addicted ass, especially the outrageous amount of games he plays but he has good at bats at least. The numbers will not keep up for Buck and Olivo unless a hitting coach somewhere else has really changed something.

Why don't we just bring back It's not a snack, it's EMIL brown since he had 86 ribs one year and pods wont ever get that.

John Buck and Miguel Olivo were the least of our problems last year.

I knew Moose had a big night, but I didn't know it was against Friedrich. Top lefty prospect and Moose owned him. This is starting to get really exciting.

Crow was pretty good tonight as well, going 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out 6 and only walking 1 (and the win).

Moose with another big night tonight with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

Montgomery goes 7.2 innings, gives up a run and strikes out 7 with no walks.

Will Myers went 2 for 3 with a HR, double and three walks.

The youngsters are coming.

Do you guys see Derrick Robinson as a legitimate candidate for us? Or is he Joey Gathright 2.0?

He's only been hitting well for like a grand total of three months. He has to prove that he can hit at all levels. There is some optimism because ever since he changed the timing of his swing his bat has been strong. Combine that with his insane speed and he is beginning to emerge as the prospect that the Royals paid waaaaaaaay over slot for as a 4th rounder.

Interesting information. I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out. Not just Robinson, but the other prospects too.

Hosmer and Moustakas are really starting to look like what they were drafted to be... a great, homegrown, 3-4 combo that you can build an offense around.

Hosmer's HR numbers have been hurt by the cavernous park up there in Wilmington (and the cold weather in that league), but he is driving the ball well (16 2B). The most promising thing, I think, is his eye so far this year (almost 2x as many BB as K).

Will be interesting to see how Gordon and Robinson play as the year goes on. Anything you get from those guys at this point is a bonus, IMO. Because the future is looking pretty damn bright with Moose, Hosmer, Monty, Crow, Lamb, Dwyer, et al.

CaliforniaChief 05-21-2010 11:35 PM

So let's assume that Moose is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, our 3rd baseman of the future. And let's say that Hosmer eventually becomes the 1st baseman and Billy moves to DH. Can Aviles play SS? Is Callaspo viable at 2nd? How does everyone see that shaking out?

Myers, Hosmer, Callaspo, Aviles, Moustakas, Gordon, Robinson, DeJesus, Butler? That could be quite an offense.

Honestly... I wouldn't be surprised to see Hosmer moved to an OF spot. He's got a tremendous arm, and he's purportedly a good enough athlete to play in the OF. Two years from now, here's what I think you're looking at....

CF - Robinson
LF - Gordon
3B - Moose
1B - Butler
DH - Kila
2B - Aviles
RF - Lough/FA
C - FA
SS -FA

I think Eric Hosmer is a late call-up in 2012.

My question remains... can you convince Greinke to wait for the kids to make it here? If you can't, deal him early for another bat to add to this group.

That would be an atrocious defensive club, unfortunately, depending on how Moose, Myers and Hosmer develop their gloves (all three are seen as average fielders at best right now).

These are certainly better problems that are likely ahead of us than the days of dreaming when Jorge De Los Santos or Colt Griffin was going to make it.

Mizzou_8541 05-22-2010 08:17 AM

Are the Royals getting more 2 out RBI's the last 10 days, or am I just getting my hopes for no reason...
