Only thing that I can add is that face value for World Series tickets is a LOT higher than the ALCS, so sellers are going to be more stubborn. Don't expect a great deal, go into it thinking you'll probably pay $250 for a bad upperdeck seat and then patiently wait them out to get the best seat possible.

It also might be good to check the site every 10-15 minutes or so, because if a seller gives up and really slashes their price crazy-low, you won't have much time to see it, recognize that its a deal you won't see again, and jump on it before someone else does. If you aren't lucky enough to snag one of those, then the rest of the ticket prices will drift low enough that 5 hours before the game you'll still at least find a seat for about $250. (plus fees that stubhub rapes us on for world series, so it'll probably be close to $300)

Thanks for all the information - any other tips on using the site? There seems to be a plethora of seats and its hard to sort by best available. I'm going to buy some game 1 tickets, I'll report back how well the system worked.

Yep, there were some great deals for the ALDS/ALCS, but they don't last long.... I saw a $100 ticket 5 rows behind the Blue Jays' dugout for ALCS game 1, but it was gone by the time I clicked on it. I sat a few rows behind the Diamond Club for game 6 for ~$300 after seeing the price drop from about $400 a few hours before the game... still far more than I usually spend on a sporting event, but a relatively good deal considering others were going for $400-500.

But, the same ~$125-150 upper deck seats are now $500+ and the same lower level seats are going for over $1000.

You can also check out kcroyals.com, they'll release tickets at random times, but they will obviously go very quickly.... I got a game 7 ticket in the lower half of the upper deck last year at face value, think I bought it on the day of game 1 or maybe a couple days before.

I usually select all sections I want first, and then sort by row or price.... I'll usually do all the lower level sections I want, and then do another one with all the upper deck sections.... but, with prices so high, I'll just mouse over each section to see the cheapest.

Speaking of on-line tickets....

A buddy of mine asked, and I didn't know, but if you buy tickets from stub hub, can you use your phone as the ticket? He's thinking about buying 5 for him and his Family. I know you can do this for reg season games, but didn't know about the playoffs.

They have a stupid pop up every time you refresh that mentions downloading their app so you can get into the game with your phone, so they should be able to... I've always printed mine off though.

They scan your screen for each ticket and then the scanner they use prints out a little paper ticket stub thing.

We've officially done it!

Yosted is now part of the recognized lexicon of American vocabulary and referential definition of its implied state or circumstance.

I present to you the standard bearer and preeminent source of record in journalism for over the past century in America, The New York Times.

Just a small blurb in the various features they're running in conjunction with today's start of the World Series.

But, there it is in black and white, Yosted. Well, and poorly highlighted in green.

I'm probably delusional, but I give CP credit for birth to the term Yosted. In fact, I have never heard anyone else use it casually, but every time I have and explain it's origin and meaning everybody loves it, and thinks it's genius. Many picking it up and using it themselves now.

Congratulations around the table, everyone! Now, let's go kick the ever-living shit out of the Metropolitans.

1st pitch can't get here quick enough.

Figured I should posted this here for perpetuity sake.

Cool, thanks. He's planning to drive up and get tickets last minute to get the best deal possible - hence needing to use the phone as a ticket. He saw that same pop up, but wasn't sure if this was legit, given it's playoff baseball instead of reg season.

I'm more of a planner, so last minute tickets are not my thing:)

Happy to share that they came out completely healthy and we were all home early afternoon on Friday. My wife is a goddamn rock star at being pregnant - this was a natural pregnancy, she carried twins to 38 weeks and some change, she got them both to 6 pounds or more, she delivered them naturally, and she's just generally dominating.

The birth went really well, all things considered. Our second- our daughter - had to be helped out (via a vaccuum, which was a pretty weird experience. Ever seen a blacksmith pumping a bellows? Imagine looking down and seeing your OBGYN working one of those between your wife's legs) but is just fine!

Oh, and the Royals are undefeated since their birth, and the comeback started on Wednesday following her delivery. She's our little good luck charm.

My congratulations on a healthy birth for both your new additions to the family. You can tell them when they're older that mom made sure they were born before the World Series so they could watch the Royals win it!

Glad to hear the wifey was a champ and recovery nicely. My sister in law is only 12-14 weeks along, but still spooked mostly because it's their 1st and she wants to try and do everything "right" during the pregnancy.

Mike Leake is another guy in that General realm. Kennedy probably has a little more upside, but Leake is a safer choice.

How you know you are on the right track, see below.

The guy in your signature is that fake Ned? I think he deserves the Yosted credit but CP definitely helped the Avalanche.

mikeyis4dcats. 10-27-2015 08:41 AM

I have plenty of friends that use Yosted, none have ever been to CP.

Prison Bitch 10-27-2015 08:42 AM

Ian Kennedy sucked last year and he made 10M. He's had 2 good years in 8. All 5 of his pitches had negative value in 2015. Even hurt himself in the opener and had to miss a month.

Sounds fugging awesome!
