A high school teacher sent in her resignation after school officials in Oklahoma uncovered evidence that she used Google Docs to send sexual messages to a student, reports say.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office said Deer Creek High School teacher Sarah Hull-Degroat, 23, sent sexual messages and a photo of her topless to a 15-year-old student through Google Docs, which allows users to share and edit documents with others.

School officials were notified of the communication between the teacher and student when software flagged words in the Google Doc relating to sex, the sheriff’s office said in an affidavit for a search warrant. Messages showed the two were planning on meeting on Friday, Dec. 2, before school officials intervened.

Lenis DeRieux, the assistant superintendent for the Deer Creek School District, told sheriff’s officials “it appeared there may have been sexual contact between the minor student and Hull-Degroat,” according to the affidavit.

Oklahoma County Sheriff Tommie Johnson III announced the arrest of Hull-Degroat last week. She was charged with soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology, Johnson said in the news briefing streamed by KOKH.

Hull-Degroat was placed on administrative leave by Deer Creek Schools, according to KOKI.

“A teacher is not meant to be that kind of a friend. You know, they’re supposed to be a role model,” Deer Creek Superintendent Dr. Jason Perez said, according to KFOR. “They’re supposed to be a mentor to the students and that’s the relationship we expect for all of our staff. Period.”

Hull-Degroat’s employment status was on the agenda for the Deer Creek Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, Dec. 12, but she reportedly sent in her resignation beforehand.

“It didn’t really shock me to receive the resignation,” Perez told KFOR.

The school board will act on her resignation during next month’s meeting, and the district is requesting that her teaching certificate be revoked, KOKH reported.

Deer Creek High School is in Edmond, about 20 miles north of Oklahoma City.

This is the reason I'm a firm believer that young adults in their 20's or low end of 20's shouldn't be teaching highschool students. In a few years time they are all in the same dating circle so putting them together during a time of raging hormones and that age gap is still the same but just at an illegal point in time is a recipe for disaster.

There is a shortage of teachers. You hire a quality one no matter what their age is, and expect them to act professionally.

I've worked in both the Trade and Corporate America. Plenty of unprofessional people well over the age of 30.... Now lets lower that age to 22 and allow them to teach kids that in age wise were their freshman when they were a senior?

It's not just teenagers. There are some adults that can't handle that shit either. But lets not act like porn is ruining society single handedly (not saying you are).

For sure, there are some adults too, although I would argue that many of those adults were also exposed to porn at a young age. The biggest difference is that porn was once a niche thing - magazines under the mattress, VHS tapes your dad hid in the closet, etc. Kids were at the mercy of their parents' "interests".

Now it's ubiquitous. One can get on a search engine and find literally anything. Nothing is off limits anymore. Furthermore, internet porn has gone even further away from the "movie" concept. People, especially kids that are used to TikTok and Snapchat, consume porn a 2-minute clip at a time. There's no semblance of anything other than raw sex and it seems that the trend is towards more and more - I don't want to say "misogyny" - but even straight sex videos have taken a BDSM turn. Spitting, slapping, etc.

Kids think that's normal now. They're impressionable and emotionally malleable in a way adults aren't.

There is a ton of research out there showing how porn destroys people's brains. It's a massive massive social problem that few will talk about.

The first nude image was allegedly sent to the teenager after she had asked him: "You want to see something?"

When he asked if she had sent the shot in error, she then zapped over another naked selfie.

Police started an investigation into Rosafort's behaviour after a friend of the victim told her parents, who subsequently reported the suspected sexual assault.

Rosafort has also been accused of sending videos of herself masturbating and asking the boy to reciprocate with nude pictures of himself.

A shirtless picture of the victim was found on her phone.

Officers, meanwhile, have gathered evidence to prove that the pair were in the same location when the alleged sexual assaults took place.

The boy had left a party early one night, telling his friends that he needed to see his family, according to the affidavit seen by Connecticut news outlet WTNH.

When he returned, he then admitted to children at the party that he had "left the party to have sex with a woman".

According to the arrest warrant, the boy had sexual intercourse in a vehicle but "ended the encounter because he began to feel weird about it".

He went on to tell his parents about the alleged assault two days later because he felt "very weird and guilty" about what had happened.

Rosafort has posted a $100,000 bond and has been released on the condition that she has no contact with any minors other than her own children and is no longer permitted to use social media.

Following the allegations, she resigned from her part-time job at the school, who warned her in December not to text or contact pupils through social media platforms.
