Love him, hate him or indifferent towards him, it's going to be weird seeing a different manager run out the lineup card on 4/4/12.

He certainly went out on a high note, and I wish him well, but I don't have a problem with moving on.

Although I wish he'd waited until after the Pujols situation was resolved to bail.

I dont know, I think he would have seen some action when Tony had the shingles if they were going to give him a shot.

It is going to be so strange, watching anybody but TLR manage this team. He has been the manager my whole baseball life

Pretty surprising... I though LaRussa would keep on trucking forever. I wonder if he knows Pujols isn't coming back. You can always bring Joe Torre back.

Is there any chance we can drag Maddon out of Tampa

i thought that too. i'd like to see him get a break, unless there's something about him i'm not aware of.

The list should begin and end with Jose Oquendo and Ron Warner.

Wow. I can't believe that TLR is leaving. He was an institution in that dugout, and normally an institution that I wanted flayed alive. That said, he did far more good than bad this postseason, aside from his Game 5 tardfest.

Duncan would almost assuredly be gone, especially given his age and his wife's condition.

I don't really know if Lilliquist is worth his salt as a pitching coach

I have a feeling the usual suspects in this thread would have had a different reaction to this news had Texas won in game 6.

Pop Warner was super popuar in Springfield and he did a great job. Having said that Dan Patrick says "team sources" are saying Tito and Madden are the top candidates.

I have no problem with him leaving. It was time and the World Series doesn't change that.

I can't imagine the Rays letting Maddon leave.
