No slam dunk but.... Maddon.....proven to make the most of the players he has been dealt. Has developed young pitching, should help Marrtinez, Miller and the rest of our pitchers in the pipeline develop. Life long Cardinals fan. Says its his dream job. Riggleman.....Obviously history with the organization and a great reputation as a baseball mind. Dont knwo what happened in Washington. Franco.....??? He lost a clubhouse is that a career killer or does his body of work deserve another chance at one of the best jobs in baseball. Pop Warner.....Don't know enough to have an opinion. Oquendo/McGuire/Bench Coach or other non experienced Larussa coach..... I'm on the fence. |

Francona has no connection to the organization aside from his father playing for them. Pendleton seems like someone who could be on the list, as he was a Cardinal. Warner, maybe, but I doubt it. No one on the current staff, aside from Pettini or Oquendo, seems fit to be a manager. McGwire, IMO, wouldn't be able to handle the pressure and Duncan's going to retire soon. |
Priorities:
1. Keep Albert 2. Keep Duncan If advancing any of the existing staff members accomplishes these goals, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, I say clean house. |

Lilliquist seems to be an okay bullpen coach and possibly pitching coach of the future. |

Just look at what happened to garcia after his visit? Visit to Carp in Game 7? Whatever he said, strategy suggestion, mechanical tip whatever...they settled down. I just don't see Duncan going to another club. He has roots here. The wife isn;t completly healthy yet so he doesnt want to move. The new manager wouldn obviously hire him as his pitching coach next year. I'm sure the Cardinals can give him a bump in pay also. |
Here's a crude mashup of some video I took at the parade on Sunday. Would have had a lot more, but the douchebag to my left doesn't know how the **** to wave - dude was like a ****ing windmill, throwing his hand in front of my camera constantly. And **** YouTube for butchering the quallity of this.

but I doubt the next manager will fail regardless of Pujols resigning or not. We have some serious pitching help on the way. And in baseball strong pitching is the base to build a winner. |
