Why No New Orleans Hurricanes?

Problem is that that name there is not really a population of American Crocodiles near New Orleans. They live mainly in the far southern part of Florida only. It is Gators that are in those Bayous near NOLA.

That is friggen hillarious. Worst name change since the Washington Wizards. Hell it's even worse than that.

Pelicans are badass. (And the LA state bird.)

Crescent City Pelicans would have been better. They don't have to use New Orleans in the name. The Warriors play in Oakland but are called the Golden State Warriors.

The New Orleans Bayou Bangers and just have a caricature Cajun dude.

I don't see why? It's not any worse than 75% of collegiate nicknames, and it's not any worse than the Dolphins. Shit it's better than the Heat, atleast there's an S at the end. Could you imagine if this whole time Miami's football club was named the Miami Rebels or something, and they decided to change to the Dolphins because it's more meaningful to the community? Same kind of thing.

I really do like that name change, and I love all the young talent on that team, The Pelicans are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
