Did they at least offer her some sort of severance package?

Yep.

A whopping two weeks, plus vacation time paid out and insurance/dental through the end of November.

Unbelievable.

DaFace 10-14-2011 03:19 PM

Damn dude. Hang in there.

Predarat 10-14-2011 03:20 PM

My gosh what a bunch of bastards. How awful.

Jenson71 10-14-2011 03:28 PM

I hope things turn around real soon for her and she lands something even better. Good luck in this transition.

Fritz88 10-14-2011 03:33 PM

Sorry to hear this. Sounds like your wife's luck with jobs is as bad as my wife's. Some of her greatest hits include working for a company that was shut down by the government because the executives were criminals - not only did she lose her job, but she also never got paid for the last two weeks she worked there. Another was when we returned from our honeymoon to a FedEx package on the porch containing a letter saying that her and her entire department had been laid off. The following Tuesday was 9/11.

I feel your pain. Best of luck to you both.

Holy crap, let us know is we can help anyway we can, we got to be good for a couple free meals, and couple pairs of ears and / or at least a night of reprieve to let the hair down and stress out of a little while.

Unfortunately that is about all JR and I can do. Other than send the well wishes of course.

MOhillbilly 10-14-2011 04:57 PM

Can she milk cows?

It took them some balls to be honest.
I wish the best for you and your family.
These are bad times for all. This is the way of world these days and it's frightening.
I worry for our kids getting their foot in the door in a age where every entry level position is being outsourced to India or China etc.. and every company is only concerned about the bottom line.

Good luck.

Old Dog 10-14-2011 05:29 PM

Unfortunately I have nothing to offer but good wishes to offer you, but you have those.
