The issue isnt whether or not he knew the rules...im sure he did. The issue is the dumb etiquette rules of golf that dont serve any purpose other than to promote elitism and snobbishness.

It's not a rule of golf to wear any particular attire. It's the respect due as an invited guest of an exclusive country club. His club sponsor probably paid hundreds of dollars for his green fee (no one plays for free), plus other expenses. This isn't that difficult to figure out. I guarantee you that MJ knows what's appropriate. Maybe he was being childish towards people richer than he.
