What happened to that great restaurant on the river? Used to have live music on the deck every Sunday night. I can't think of the name right now, but it was awesome.

It was called the Sunset Grill, closed about 5 years ago because the promotor who owned it wanted it to be his office.

I am a 21 year old from Saint Joseph who goes to school at mizzou. That being said when I come back I go to Norty's (New sky deck) and Tap Room (Only no smoking bar I know of in Saint Joe, more upscale crowd than downtown). Norty's is a better environment for getting hammered but Tap room has better food. Other than that you have to go to Beaudreax or however it is spelled.

Sunset grill was fun. We used to drink in the parking lot before going in. Ride jet ski right up there. You me and skinnie Pete would lay down some five for fighting.

My family owns the cabin next door that everyone always parked in. Sunday night live music was always a good time.

i think it's kinda funny all the grumblings about moving camp down here. Especially when this thread starts filling up and people realize there is some stuff to do in the area. What the hell exactly was there to do in River Falls, besides frequent the handful of bars or pizza places downtown?

Lol! Where to start? Mall of America was only 30-40 minutes away, tubing the Apple River is a BLAST, wineries and boat cruises in Stillwater, boardwalk and beach in dowtown Hudson as well as an amazing old fashioned cigar lounge, excellent golf courses, on top of some truly unique and amazing restaurants like San Pedro Cafe, Pier 500, Twisted Grill, etc...

There was a ton to do within 30-40 minutes of River Falls....

You know I'm surprised with all the franchise places opened, or opening, up around here there isn't a Steak n Shake.

Just heard that the delicious KC churrascaria Em Chamas is opening a second location. In St. Joe.

Galvin's caught on fire, not an option at the moment

cmh6476 07-28-2011 07:17 AM

oh and the casino is temporarily closed due to flood so that's out as well

Ok here's the deal with St. Joseph. You go to a bar called Wiley's (it is an old pizza hut) You slip the bar tender a 20 dollar bill and you whisper in his right ear that you want the PostRockPablo. They wisk you away to the deck and give you an mp3 player filled with Modest Mouse tunes. From there you will order 10 bud lights and you will start living the dream.

If any visitors are keeping up with this The Ground Round at Belt and Frederick have $1.99 blue margaritas during all televised Royals games.I know your're here for football but take my word after a hot day at camp they go down damn good, especially at $1.99
