Len Dawson, Joe Montana , Trent Green , Steve Deberg ,

Len Dawson the ONLY Super Bowl winner, but you got to give props to Montana, even on the downside of his career he still stuck and broke it off to the broncos on Monday night at Mile High. Green has turned out to be the man and loved the grit of Deberg, but I would have to say Blackledge was my favorite BUST as a CHIEFS QB.

Me too. With that being said Trent Green. I am a sucker for people who deal with adversity with class.

Trent Green is the definition of that person.

Did I mention my son's name is Trent?

NewChief 11-19-2004 06:17 AM

Trent Green, of course. Because....I don't have to justify myself to you bastiges!

I started watching this team and their quarterbacks the year before they won the super bowl. I could have bought any quarterback jersey that has been worn but I only own or have only owned and worn one,and that is #10 Trent Green. The greatest quarterback this team has seen so far.

Chieficus 11-19-2004 08:40 AM

Ted White! Ted White! Ted White!

(If I remember right...wasn't he supposed to have this super-strong arm, but wasn't very accurate and didn't have much of a brain to boot...) He was like the Jesse Haynes of QB's there for a year...

Green
Dawson
Montana
Kenney
DeBerg

The biggest bust was, by far, Blackledge. We passed on Marino and Kelly for this bum.

KCJohnny 11-19-2004 09:01 AM

Dawson
Montana
Grbac
Green
DeBerg

4 of those guys were masters at play-action...

Gaz 11-19-2004 09:04 AM

What, no Grbac?

I don’t count Montana. He was and will ever be a 49ers QB, even if he and his wonky hamstring did have a one-night stand with the R&G.

1. Green [class, leadership, guts]
2. Dawson [the Cool]
3. Kenny [underappreciated in his time]
4. DeBerg [my personal favorite, but hardly the best]

xoxo~
Gaz
Wishes it was a longer list.

That's one thing about Grbac... he was good at the play-action... unfortunately, the running backs he had to play-action off of were the likes of Bam Morris and Donnell Bennet...so...

suds79 11-19-2004 09:06 AM

Since I'm a little younger (25) I can't comment on Dawson.

So my order would be:

1 - Montana. He's the greatest QB of all time for cryin out loud.
2 - Green. Just solid. Accutate, Crafty, Gutty, Smart. He's got it. Arm doesn't wow you though.
3 - Gannon. Just a winner.
4 - Elvis. Only thing I liked about him was his big arm. Fun to watch. And if I remember right, tended to beat the Bronc os. Could be wrong there but that's always a plus in my book.
