I'm not going that far yet; way too early. Having said that, the game is the second half of a back-to-back roadie. It'll be plenty tough.

I don't think it's a magic forcefield -- I think it's a mindset... a self-fulfilling prophecy. History has proven that the Kansas City Chiefs do not perform well in Florida.

True story about Bryan Busby.

During the 1991 season one of the fan contests @ Arrowhead that season was fielding punts from a machine. For the playoff game against the Raiders local celebraties tried their hand at fielding punts.

Bryan Busby was one of them. Now they all wore helmuts, however, when it was Busby's turn he kept ducting his head thinking the ball was going it hit his noggin while the ball sailed 20-30 yds past him.

I agree. Getting to the play-offs on a weak schedule results in a 2003 type of season. It doesn't make a damn bit of difference how many regular season wins you have against lousy teams. Come play-off time, you have to be able to beat the best no matter where you play.

Ok fine. But when we do play there, we get our asses handed to us. most of the time. It's not just there, they play us well. They have a good record against us. Period.

There's usually not a Monday nighter the last week of the season.

WIN - Home opener vs. an AFC playoff team with possible injury issues- particularly at QB, and our new head coach. Gotta be a W.

9/17 @ Denver 3:15
LOSS

Quote:

9/24 BYE
Who the ***** needs a break in the third week? :shake:

Quote:

10/1 S.F. NOON
WIN - SF at home? After a bye-week? You should not lose this one, period.

Quote:

10/8 @ AZ 3:05
WIN - I like what AZ has done during the off-season, but they still do not have a crucial home field advantage, and they still have holes in that defense.

Quote:

10/15 @ Steelers
LOSS - The battle of former Chiefs assistants- outta be a good one.

Quote:

10/22 Seattle
WIN - The other SB team lost a few players during the off-season, but more importantly- historically- Seattle doesn't fare well in Arrowhead.

Quote:

10/29 S.D.
WIN - A battle between a former coach and assistant. Another fun one to watch. SD without Brees? I like their defense, but I haven't seen enough of Rivers to chalk this one up for SD.

Quote:

11/5 @ ST LOUIS
WIN - Our sister city and nearly our identical twin when it comes to a team make-up. I think we have a better team overall.

Quote:

11/12 @ MIAMI
LOSS - I think Miami had one of the better off-seasons of any team. They were a surprisingly strong team last year, and I expect them to be even better. The good thing is we play them in November instead of September when it won't be so humid and muggy.

Quote:

11/19 RAIDERS
WIN - Need I say more?

Quote:

11/23 DENVER
WIN - Just as we lose in Invesco, we in at Arrowhead. One of the best rivalries in football- and just before Thanksgiving which is one of the better times to be in KC.

Quote:

12/3 @ Cleavland noon
LOSS - Yep. I'm chalking this one up as a loss. I think Cleveland has had an outstanding off-season and I expect them to be the surprise team of 06. I think it will be a close one, but we lose a tough game at the end.

Quote:

12/10 Baltimore
WIN - Arrowhead, late in the season, playoff implications, it doesn't get any better than this. After the loss in Cleveland- the team gets a wake-up call and spanks the Ravens in front of a riotious crowd at Arrowhead.

Quote:

12/17 @S.D 3
WIN - San Diego is out of the playoff race. Rivers is no longer the starting QB, LT is gone for the year due to an injury- we couldn't have picked a better time to be playing them.

Quote:

12/23 @ OAKLAND
WIN - Nice speed, nice talent for Oakland, but they simply don't care anymore at this point. They are in the cellar and everyone on the Raiders just wants to go home and spend the holidays with their families.

Quote:

1/1 JAX NOON
LOSS - Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't JAX have our number? I don't recall ever beating JAX. I think their offense will be better this season, and I expect their D to be better as well. One of the most underrated teams in the league. I think they will be last year's Pittsburgh.

Final: 11-5

Mile High Mania 04-06-2006 11:34 AM

Three b2b roadies and a 3 game stretch over 11 days in November... interesting. Only another half hour before we see how Denver looks... I'm hoping there's at least 2 b2b roadies so Tex feels a li'l better.

Chiefshrink 04-06-2006 11:36 AM

12-4 Baby!

sure, if you count games back in the stone age.

Hammock Parties 04-06-2006 11:39 AM

I like this schedule. Alot. I think the potential for a good start is definitely there.

MOhillbilly 04-06-2006 11:39 AM

ill wait till the final roster is set before i go nuts either way.

Frazod 04-06-2006 11:43 AM

This will be our first regular season game against the Lambs in St. Louis. I'm going to try to go to that game, and hope lots of other Chiefs fans will as well. Let's turn the tables on those fuckers who invade Arrowhead in mass. :grr:

The Chiefs are 4-4 against Pittsburgh in their last 8 games.

They have good record against us in the 70s and 80s, when we sucked and they were good.
