FWIW, I'm really not taking this too seriously, it's just something to do once a week since I have a little free time in the evenings. I'd love to bowl over a 250 once, that would be cool, but hey, the beer is good. :thumb:

It is a spare ball.

You forgot the getting up at 4:30 a.m. part for hot oatmeal. :D

Started with a solid pocket hit and a solid 10 pin. Converted the spare and then threw 17 strikes in a row. Never threw a bad ball until the 6 frame of the third game.

Career night. My average is 187. I bowl once a week.

That was a heck of a night. When I first saw it I thought, man, that must be near an 800, but realized it was still 45 pins off.

Congratulations. I was thinking that you will get one of these...

But I was looking on the ABC site, and apparently they don't give those any more.

And when did the ABC become the US Bowling Congress?

Bowling score is inversely proportional to beer intake.

Interestingly enough, our lanes STUNK tonight. I seriously think he double-oiled our lanes on us while not mopping the backend. Everyone else in the house said their lanes were a bit dry, but our pair of lanes were something else. The line that I used last week in thumping the owner was so wet that my ball couldn't even get to the left of the 3 pin and I was able to knock 10 pins down with my strike ball. My second game I gave up trying to bowl good and just tried to figure out what worked - I never did ended up with something like a 138 on a 194 average. The last game I put the good balls up (didn't see any need in getting them chipped in machines that were having lots of trouble tonight) and bowled with my 20+ year old urethane ball. It actually handled the oil better than the newer style equipment.

It wasn't just me, we have another guy on our team that bowls 180s that was having fits as well.

Add into the lane problems, if I don't at some point in my sleep tonight wake up my wife by yelling "BALL ON 12!" I will be surprised. No exageration, we were calling out AT LEAST 2-3 times a frame for a stuck ball on that lane - and we were missing 2 bowlers tonight and the other team was missing 1.

Oh well. The owner was snickering at us a bit, but the lane conditions tonight convinced our team that we didn't need to bother with the city tourny next weekend - at $50 a person for a 5 man team in all events, there will be a bit of profit loss on that one.
