I didn't think anyone actually used the name Laverne.

It's definitely a very old name. I come across it sometimes when I'm indexing medical records. Always someone very very old. No disrepect to my grandmother, but I definitely won't be passing it along.

Oh, and those Hey Vern commercials were big about the time I was in high school. Vern kind of became a funny nickname for a very short amount of time.

Middle: Taken from my paternal great-grandfather's middle name.

My father and his father (to an extent), my first cousin-once removed and his father and grandfather, and I, all go by our middle names.

Some chick came over to our table the other night at the bar and introduced herself. She said her name was Beverly, and I was making fun of her calling her a lying and deceitful old shrew.
